It works like a charm, but after installing Sqeezecenter the remote don't function anymore in mythtv. Logfile: Slim::Utils::PluginManager::enablePlugins (408) Couldn't load Slim::Plugin::PreventStandby::Plugin. Error: Plugin is not compatible with your platform. Have you the same problems, or already a solution that works in Sqeezencenter??? Re: [slim] Combining Slimserver and PVR?
Peter, I've finally had a chance to try out your plugin and can't quite get the myth frontend to respond.. (after reading through my post i realize maybe i need to kick over the frontend for the new .lircrc to be used..) irw is displaying button presses from the slim remote.. I've tried out your lircrc file as well as making my own running lircjb with verbose, it seems to be passing the commands to - OUT1 does this make sense? I assume it is right because if lircd is not running then it fails to connect. anyhow assuming i can get this straightened out, you mentioned it would be possible to edit the lirc.pm file for additional remote codes.. can you just take them from an arbitrary conf file like this? http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/ge/UNIVERSAL thanks for this great plugin i can't wait to get it sorted -- EFP EFP's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6651 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=25252 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Combining Slimserver and PVR?
I have MythTV running with my Slimserver setup. Both on a Linux machine. My 4 SB3's can control MythTV over a Slimserver plugin and a Perl Lirc junction box I wrote. If anyone's interested I can make the files available. I was planning to document this, but I haven't had the time. What I'd really like to be able to do is to hook it up to my network and FTP (or whatever) those few recordings that I really want to keep - so I can edit them properly before archiving on DVD. So, we now have PVR devices which look like they will do this - for example the Dream Box ( http://www.dream-multimedia-tv.de/english/products_dm7025.php ) Of course, its an appliance computer running Linux. So then I think... well, if I were to get one of these and run it 24x7, why not put slimserver on it too, so I don't have to have two boxes running all the time? I have no idea how open the Linux is on these things, but I figured someone round here might know. I note that its not a high powered CPU, so I'd have to watch out for scanning time (split scanning in 6.5 might help), and also for running outof horsepower if its trying to simultaneously capture two TV programmes and serve two or three SBs Has anyone successfully combined the Dream Box or a similar Linux-based PVR with Slimserver? If so, what can you tell us about it?? Failing that, and at the risk of going OT, has anyone tried one of these WITHOUT slimserver, and was it any good? Inputs hugely appreciated. (NB - I can record digital TV off-air on to one of my desktop computers, so when I know in advance that I want to record for later editing I can do that... but this isn't in the living room, and isn't driven by a nice simple remote with a high WAF, so doesn't meet all my needs - which is why I have the standalone PVR) Ceejay -- ceejay ceejay's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=148 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=25252 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Combining Slimserver and PVR?
Quoting ceejay [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Has anyone successfully combined the Dream Box or a similar Linux-based PVR with Slimserver? If so, what can you tell us about it?? I installed knoppmyth using the downloaded CD, upgraded perl, svn, mysql. I then checked out a new copy of slimserver and used one of the debian startup setups from the wiki to automate the service. A few tweaks to the Myth Menu system and I even have softsqueeze as a menu option from myth. This last bit required hacking Sun's java into a .deb that could be installed. All details for the steps involved in the above were found on google. Pairing with MythTV has always been discussed on the forums before. -kdf ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
