What did that salesperson in a big store tell me a few days ago:
"PDA? There's no such thing anymore!"

But hey, when I search for [windows mobile controller] the thread "PDA
controller solution" comes up 3rd.

OK - I did not mention "smartphones", not knowing they are by now a
majority.

Developement is definitely in progress.

Re: [slim] Controlling Squeeze Box using a Windows Mobile 6 Mobile Phone

2009-04-22 Thread funkstar

I've not tried them on Mobile Opera, but Handheld worked with the old
Internet Explorer ok.

Someone has managed to get a version of SqueezeOS to compile for WinMo,
but i don't know how well it works.

http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=61925&highlight=windows+mobile

There was a mobile app that could control SqueezeCenter, but i don't
know if it is still in development or not.

Have a look in the Plugins part of the Wiki
(http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SqueezeCenter_Plugins) For some
reason the Wiki isn't loading for me, don't know if it's my ISP or not.

[slim] Controlling Squeeze Box using a Windows Mobile 6 Mobile Phone

2009-04-22 Thread Stoker

Hi

I've just aquired a HTC Touch Pro mobile phone which runs the Windows
Mobile 6 operating system. I was hoping that I could use this device to
control my SqueezeBox. It would seem on the surface that I have several
options:

1. Use a Web browser. The phone has WiFi and a 480x640 VGA screen.
2. Some kind of native application that uses the Sqeezecentre's CLI.
2. SqueezePlay. Not sure if this is even possible.

I've tried the web browser method and find that with both mobile Opera
and windows explorer the pages aren't rendered properly (things get
drawn on top of other things and links don't work) and it's almost
impossible to use. I've tried the default skin, handheld and Nokia770.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong with the web browsers,
are there any known issues with Squeeze Centre and mobile Opera?

Any suggestions about other methods of controlling my squeezebox with
my phone would be most welcome.

Cheers
