Thanks for your willing to help. But the best will be that Logitech
comes up with a standard, simple and easy way to manage multi-room
listening.

Re: [slim] Custom Menu items

Personally I don't believe that a solution is any better if it comes
from Logitech as opposed to a 3rd party developer. A key benefit of the
open source model is the ideas and labor of third parties. But if you
want to wait for Logitech that's obviously up to you. In the meantime,
The Synchronizer is plenty simple and easy (at least in my experience,
with 8 SBs plus 3 SBCs), and I understand that the iPeng app is even
easier.

I have the same wish: adding the Synchronize on the top menu on the
classic and the boom. Obviously it should be directly accessible.

How to do it? I cannot see the synchronize entry in the web interface
under settings / players / menu

Re: [slim] Custom Menu items

2010-06-28 Thread aubuti

My mistake -- there are so many things that you *can* put on the top
level menu that I assumed something as commonly used as sync would be
one of them, but alas it isn't. If it's any consolation, sync-related
plugins such as The Synchronizer can be put on the top-level menu of
the Boom, SB2, SB3/Classic, etc. I'm not sure how many button presses
that will save you compared to Settings Synchronize though.

Btw, if you're using an IR remote with alphanumeric keys, you can
probably skip the scrolling and get to sync in just 5 button presses.
On the SB2 in my kitchen it's:
1) Now Playing (gets me to a known place from anywhere in the menus)
2) left arrow (gets back to top-level menu)
3) 9 (takes me to Settings)
4) right arrow
5) 4 (takes me to Syncrhonize)

The number key you use for step #3 will depend on exactly where
Settings appears in your top-level menu. Similarly the number key you
use for step #5 will depend on how many plugins you have installed that
use the Settings menu, etc.

Re: [slim] Custom Menu items

2010-05-26 Thread Bixby

This would be to the top level of my Classic and Boom.

I'm well aware of the menu editing in the settings, but I sure don't
see a way to add the Synchronize command that's under the Settings menu
directly to the top level of the Classic or Boom interface. So I
currently have to go to Settings and then scroll down to Synchronize.
Whereas I'd like the Synchronize option right along with my other
top-level items.

Thanks again!

[slim] Custom Menu items

2010-05-25 Thread Bixby

I've done a little searching on this forum, but want to confirm what
I've found:

I'm looking for a way to add custom menu items to the top-level menu.
For instance, I'd love to be able to quickly unsync my Boom and
Classic. I've played with the couple sync-related plugins, but they
seem to do more than what I'm seeking.

So for now the solution is to go to the settings menu and then sync.
But I'd love to be able to add sync as a top-level menu. It seems
there's no way to do this (without custom programming etc.)?

Thanks-

Re: [slim] Custom Menu items

2010-05-25 Thread aubuti

As the SB has many user interfaces, the first question is: top level
menu of what? For any of the SB players or the SB Controller, you can
add Synchronize to your top-level menu quite easily. But there is no
way to add it to the top-level of the SBS web ui unless you hack the
HTML.

For the SB Controller, Radio, and Touch use Settings Home Menu
[select Synchronize]

For the SB2, SB3/Classic, Boom, or Transporter use the SBS web ui and
choose Settings Player Menus.
