Hi,

No, it is still music that belongs to my history and fits into my flow.
I just wonder why the plugin is so repetitive while for example the API
explorer on the deezer developers page provides a different track list
with each request.

2017-03-21 Thread Michael Herger

I wonder if the deezer plugin already makes use of the flow api
(http://developers.deezer.com/api/user/flow).

Yes, it does.

Because I heavily use flow in the morning and on weekends. But I
recognize often the same order of songs. Even when pausing a song and
restart flow, I get the same song B after song A like on the day before.
It looks like squeezeNetwork caches the songs over days (as an enduser I
just have this feeling).

It shouldn't. I checked again, and the flow call is one of the few
(mostly user related) calls which are supposed not to be cached on the
server.

For me the experience with deezer flow of the plugin is much worse than
through the app and the simulations via api explorer.

Ok, interesting. But it wouldn't be totally off, like you would get
somebody else's mix? It still is not totally unexpected music?

Hi mherger.
I wonder if the deezer plugin already makes use of the flow api
(http://developers.deezer.com/api/user/flow).

Because I heavily use flow in the morning and on weekends. But I

It looks like squeezeNetwork caches the songs over days (as an enduser I

I believe that also because the mobile app and the api explorer does not
behave like that. They are not that repetitive.

For me the experience with deezer flow of the plugin is much worse than
through the app and the simulations via api explorer.

Could you please investigate a bit?

Many thanks :-)

Yes you could but the Pi is a cheap combined player/LMS which is the
point if your requirement is just to add kids Spotify players.

How do you get to work the Flow feature? I'm using the official Deezer
plugin in LMS, but it only offers the list of Smart Radios. Deezer Flow
works with Ickstream, but it's limited to ~20 titles.

Isn't Flow a Premium only feature?

I've found a very simple workaround that works for me. Just press play
button instead of "fwd" during playing Deezer Smart Radio and it skips
the track. Another way - "pause" button , and then press "fwd"
button. It works for Deezer Flow as well.

Someone mentioned that it is possible to have multiple streams with
Deezer free account. Is that correct?

Incidentally the changes to Spotify family mentioned elsewhere have
caused me to experiment with this for kids use. Here is my solution not
using the cloned Triode app route.

Using a pi based player with piCorePlayer 2.0x add LMS but with no
library. Log it onto your normal account with MSB.com. Install the
Spotify Protocol Handler but with one of the additional family accounts.
Ensure squeezelite on the Pi uses 127.0.0.1 as its server i.e. It won't
then switch to your main LMS.

This gives the user access to their own Spotify stream and access to the
main LMS library via the Remote Music Library function.

Solution works nicely but only with something that can run its own LMS.

*Vortexbox LMS 7.8 music on QNAP TS419p via NFS* iThingys/iPeng/Tablets
*Living Room* - SB3 -> Onkyo TS606 - > Celestion Ditton F20s - Zone 2 ->

But automatically generated playlist I have with both services. The
repetory seems to be nearly the same as well (I was able to migrate all
of my favorite albums from Spotify to Deezer). The only differences are
that I can use Deezer on different Squeezeboxen at the same time and I
can use Deezer on old and DIY Squeezeboxen. For me that makes 2 to 0 for
Deezer.

Yes, that's problematic. It does work with SB Radio & Touch, but nothing
else IIRC.

Are there any advantages Spotify has over Deezer

I think a lot of it boils down to taste and personal preference. Eg. the
automatically generated (or manually curated) playlists might be
interesting to some but totally irrelevant to others.

Re: [slim] Deezer Smart Radio - what's your experience?

2016-06-17 Thread quadronado

Looks really bad. I hardly ever use the Smart Radio, but i'll will try
it and see if it's really that useless. btw: Is there a way to skip a
track in the Deezer Smart Radio. It always says: "Deezer Error, Skip
limit exceeded, you may skip again later."

I have about the same experience as you. Pretty much useless imo.

[slim] Deezer Smart Radio - what's your experience?

2016-06-15 Thread mherger

After a long time of not using Deezer, I'm currently playing with it
again. I created a few "Smart Mixes". I pretty soon felt like this
wasn't smart at all. Lots of repetition etc. What is your experience?

That's the results of the past few hours playing a "Peter Gabriel" mix.
Yes, PG is hardly present on the streaming services. But that's really
very, very repetitive, not only PG's tracks.
