create the new folder for above and that should get you going for now. 
if it already exists, check permissions (mapped drives, for eg aren't 
open to services)

[slim] Error Starting Server on WinXP with 4/2 beta

I just tried doing a fresh install of the latest beta 
(SlimServer_v2006-04-02.exe) and the server won 't start.
Here is the WinXP application event log error. It makes no sense:
