That's only part of Linux file permissions - who are user & group?
The user that runs LMS must be able to read the files whether they are
755 or 777 or whatever makes no odds if the user isn't in the correct
group.

I did chmod -R 777 to the entire Music directory (includes FLAC files).
So, it is not a problem with permissions

I pity the fules!

Did you check the scanner log?

less /var/log/squeezebox/scanner.log

Ubuntu can be tricky with directory permissions. Are you sure LMS has
access to those new FLAC files? I have FLAC files with -I think- the
latest 1.3.3 encoder that play perfectly?

[slim] LMS on Ubuntu does not recognize new FLAC fules

2020-03-08 Thread bapcha

I am running the latest version of the LMS on a current Ubuntu machine

It does not recognize newer FLAC rips. But, the same directory
structure works on MacOS. I removed
references to iTunes to keep things simple (for now)

Done a complete Library Rescan multiple times, but the newer FLAC files
are not "picked up" by the server. I can add log files
if necessary

Thanks,
Bapcha
