Each item in this podcast points to a html file which in turn has
playable items but the Podcast list is formatted to say each item is a
"audio/mpeg" playable item - so there is a mismatch and so it is a badly
constructed URL.  So the problem is not with LMS/Touch but with the URL.

I have added a report to a bug related to podcasts and have voted for
it. http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17745 Although it may
not be exactly the same problem, it may get folks looking into podcast
problems. Perhaps if you added your vote.

In my case the problem is with

They play OK from the SB3.

I think but am not sure, that the text (and URLS)  in the RSS feed is
formatted in an unusual way. There is a lot of use of CDATA and the
description text is HTML formatted - this is not normal and I think
technically incorrect.

Yup, sorry.

LMS: 7.7.2/r33893, running on a Windows XP, feeding three Radios and one
Touch. 

The podcasts are all set up through the podcast app link on
mysqueezebox.com page.

I've been accessing the podcasts either through squeezecommander or
through the radios directly. In both cases I get all the way to the
listing of the podcasts, but then it takes me into the description of
the podcast that you see on the rss page.

I subscribe to a ton of podcasts (not all of them awful Boston sports
talk radio, my shameful addiction) but these two are the only time I run
into this issue.

The first feed "http://audio.weei.com/rss?s=1598198"; works OK for me.
More info alwayts helps.

How are you setting up the podcast ?
Which player are you using to play ?
are you using LMS - if so what version.,  etc.

[slim] Podcast issue

Am having trouble with a couple of podcasts on the podcast app in
mysb.com...

These feeds work fine on google listen, on doggcatcher, juice, etc. But
on the squeezebox platform they only take you to the "description" page.


Interestingly, a different podcast from the same site works fine...

The feed pages for the two that DON'T work have very lengthy
descriptions for each of the podcasts... whereas the one that does work
has a very short description for each podcast. Leading me to tentatively
suggest that the length is the issue? But if there are any other
suggestions please let me know.

PS: Needless to say this points to the need for a solid third-party app
for handling podcasts, preferably one that allows for podcasts to be
downloaded directly.
