Pah, would be much better if they came to old York! We have vikings and a guy that can't play guitar, mouth organ or sing, but nevertheless does all three at once with amplification and two dogs! York's a great place - I have very fond memories of the Viking center as a child, and the railway museum. It's just a bit of a trek for me now - the New model is just over the river from here :) -- radish radish's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=77 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=18774 ___ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

No, it gets worse. At random moments in the performance, the guy gets his dogs to sing by playing twiddles on the mouth organ and shouting Sing Bess, sing. For some reason, this draws crowds of tourists, and they're not even lynch mobs. My favourite is his hand lettered sign saying Live Music, just in case you were in any doubt. But I digress... I wanted to thank you again Patrick for stopping in Oregon. I drove up from Eugene to check things out and it was worth the trip. The MacForce staff was friendly and accomodating. I almost didn't find the store as the area was so industrial. I have both the SB2 3 setup and they're great! Got a little bug on the 2 but that'll be another post. These things smoke my crappy little Roku M1001!! They're fast and hella responsive. Any changes you make in the browser to the playlist is instant! The Roku SB lags hardcore when making changes. I'm so glad I'm not the one that paid for the Roku. The only nice thing about the Roku is it's a little metal tube you can use to whack people with. -- notanatheist notanatheist's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2642 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=18774 ___ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Portland Event - (was Re: Seattle Event)
Today, I held a Launch event in Portland, OR at MacForce which turned out to be as much of a success as the Seattle event. Nice mix of new and existing customers. The turnout was twice that of Seattle. MacForce said it was one of the best manufacturer's event they had ever had. We cleaned out their inventory but they will be ordering a batch of fresh SB3s next week in time for Christmas. Stay tuned for events in New York, Netherlands, and Sydney. Plus if your in Vega for CES or San Francisco for MacWorld, please make it a point of come to the hotels listed on the homepage where I'll be setting up a Listening Room demonstrating SB3 with some very sweet audio gear. Patrick P.S. Message to the Seattle team...I added KEXP to SqueezzeNetwork's Best of Internet Radio (it should be posted later this weekend). For those not familiar, KEXP is a community radio which broadcasts an interesting mix of alternative music in 128k and benefits from heavy support from Paul Allen. It was crowded at times but most of all I think everyone had fun. It was great to meet other customers and see each of you interact with Patrick and the new device. There certainly is a very special community spirit surrounding Squeezebox and I'm glad to have been able to take part in that. We also appreciate your patience as you waited in line to check out with your new devices. Most everyone that attended left with a Squeezebox 3 and the promo Squeezebox 2 in hand. Kudos to Patrick for such a generous promotion and thanks the entire Slim Devices team for their hard work and delivering such a wonderful and fun new product. Hope to see you all again soon.
