Re: [slim] Possible solutions to wireless router problems
Silly me - not making it clear that this had to do with the Wireless connecting to the Router. And - no cats, but I beat up a couple of the neighbors kids the last days. -- kkl kkl's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19239 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=50798 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

What is the Receiver doing that is being blocked by the firewall which normally should block only WAN activity? Also, did you slaughter any black cats while working this out? :) -- Milhouse Milhouse's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=928 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=50798 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Possible solutions to wireless router problems
Hi Everybody Problem: Problems connecting to Wireless router (Specifically Netopia 3357W). In detail: After a lot of hassle connection my SB Duet Reciever to my router (Not finding it at all, staying yellow, turning green but no respons and so on) I finally figured out how to do it. My main problem was actually connecting after moving it around a bit - from upstairs to downstairs - nice possibility to be able to move it around (even though bying another unit is ofcourse the best option). Anyways - figured I would post this here because I see that connecting to the Netopia 3357W has been a problem also for others). 1st: Telnet your router (or ask your ISP for help) - Choose the "Stateful Inspection" option - Under UDP no-activity timeout (sec) set it to at least 320 seconds (default is 180 I think?). NOTE: I am not absolutely sure this is part of my solution, but anyways this is what I did before I discovered the second of my tips here.. 2nd: When connecting: Unplugg the power to the Reciever.. - Turn it back on - Now: Turn of your router and turn it back on - Be patient... Now - every time without failure the SQ Reciever finds the network and the music sources .-) Hopefully this will help somebody else. If not it only took me about 2 minutes to write this post - and telling yourself you succeded with something is also a good trick .-) -- kkl kkl's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19239 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=50798 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
