[slim] Possible to record radio stream?
Hello, I've been a happy S3 user of the past 6 years. I was wondering if there exists a plugin to record a radio station being streamed? Not that i am aware of. You might want to check out dar.fm website. This allows you to record radio shows and perhaps you can get a link that would work on squeezebox. Take a look at Audacity. Many use it for editing but it also records streaming audio. It's free. I've found dar.fm to be unreliable. They have also slowly removed features from the free version over the last few years. I now use streamripper which is a simple tool that can be run from cron. You can use squeezelite as a player set up to send output to stdout and this audio output can be saved in a file. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101955 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Possible to record radio stream?
Recording of streams e.g. played by squeezelite can be done very well with Total Recorder (http://www.totalrecorder.com). Virtual Audio Cable (http://software.muzychenko.net/eng/vac.htm) can be very helpful. --- 1 transporter with touch for controlling, 1 squeezebox 3 6 squeezebox radio 3 squeezebox controllers (+ a number of different squeezebox spares) ipeng on IPhones and IPads LMS with MusicIP under Windows Home Server 2011 on Dell PowerEdge 840 Server (Quad core Xenon X3210 @ 2.13 GHz, 8 GB RAM) ripping software: DBPowerAmp, tag editing software: Tag&Rename Otto-Wilhelm's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101955 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Possible to record radio stream?
I've used Total Recorder a lot in the past (though I seldom use it now). It has the advantage of capturing the data before the computer sound card (and we all know that most consumer PC sound cards aren't exactly designed with high quality audio in mind) and without doing digital-analog-digital conversions, rather than using the sound card outputs as most other audio capturing software does.
