Since you're on Linux, do the affected files have the same permissions
as the MP3s?

SlimServer definitely should scan and play FLAC and Ogg.

I get the same thing, sort of. It doesnt appear to find the flac files
but on closer inspection it does find them but cant read the tags. AS a
result it classes the songs under no artist. Check and see if yours is
doing the same.

This is the subject of a long standing enhancement request, I don't
think there is any sign of movement on it though.

It does make me wonder though - are the FLACs and MP3s in the same
directory for a given album, with the same tags? If so I can imagine
slimserver getting confused.

you might try setting up a small test library with a subset of the
whole, and experimenting with separating the MP3s from the FLACs.
