Re: [slim] Re: Delete song from SB menu
oops, sorry. misread all of that. Very bad idea having slimserver delete files from the filesystem itself. You have to be very careful in allowing that kind of thing, especially when so many users have a habit of opening up the web interface to the 'net. It is a big security concern to allow any kind of writing to the file system, so slimserver does try to keep it to a minimum. -k ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Why not just deny write access to your music folder? Just read and execute. Have your playlists save to a seperate writeable folder. -- notanatheist notanatheist's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2642 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23755 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

I totally agree with Mark. It's not a good idea. I don't want to be afraid of someone accidentally deleting my music (e.g. guests, girlfriend, friends with a different taste, myself...) -s. -- slimpy slimpy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1524 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23755 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Press and hold ADD places it in the zapped songs playlist. This removes it from the current playlist and marks it (by placing it in the zapped songs playlist) for possible deletion. Personally speaking, I'd rather not be able to delete files using the remote or even the web interface. I just know I'd accidentally use it. The way it is with the zapped songs playlist, you have to go through a deliberate process of several steps to delete a file. -- Mark Lanctot Mark Lanctot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2071 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23755 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
