I assume your keypads don't have any data feedback (playlist/artist/track) from the SB so you must be controlling this from either a PC/handheld or from the SB itself? Wow. Looks like my thread is dying. Oh well. In the above graphic. I really appreciate your diagram, as I am planning to implement a similar system (essentially a SB in some rooms and just a wall volume control in others) as part of a renovation project this summer/fall. Can you provide more details and/or a link about your multi-zone system? -- abdomen abdomen's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1205 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23114 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

It's a nice idea, though. It's just that my setup's a bit complicated and it's quite a job to make a diagram. Regards, Peter On Thu, 20 Apr 2006 07:44:46 -0700, bobharp [EMAIL PROTECTED] said: Wow. bobharp Wrote: Had not thought of that. One SB with multiple outputs. Cool. That would just be a fairly standard whole house audio installation, like they've been doing for the past 20 years or so, exept using a Squeezebox as a source instead of, or in addition to, an FM tuner or CD player. If I were doing whole-house audio, I'd do this as well in rooms and areas where I just need background music - kitchen, dining room, bathrooms, halls, patio, etc. The biggest advantage is easy mutlti-zone playback without worrying about synching (or buying) multiple Squeezeboxes. Another nice advantage over say a CD player as source is that you can control the player from anywhere in the house from a networked computer. In other rooms where I'd prefer to have a better quality system (listening room, master bedroom), with speakers and amp in the room itself, have a Squeezebox there, where you can use the remote and view the SB screen. If you want to pipe in the whole-house to those rooms, use it as another source into your preamp or integrated amplifier. I know a lot of people are happy synching a bunch of Squeezeboxes to tackle the issue of whole-house audio. But I just don't see it as being convenient or reliable enough to be worth the trouble. -- JJZolx Jim JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23114 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
