I think this is a good idea as well. 

I run into this all the time when I decide to play music late at night.
I start a song and suddenly realize I had the volume set too high from
daytime listening. Then it's a mad dash to reduce the volume, and hope
I didn't awake the wife.

while the actual increments don't change, the volume ramp does  
accelerate the longer you hold the button.


anyone running slimserver.pl can easily change the value and suggest a  
better value to match their preferred results.  The change would be in  
Buttons/Input/Bar.pm, around line 260:
