Problem solved. I had to throw away any files associated with SlimServer; from the system folder, library etc. Then I reinstalled v. 6.3.1. I really have no idea what could cause that - sorry. Very strange... There's a command called wget which is available on a lot of *nix boxes, but I'm not sure if it comes with OSX - can you fire up a command prompt and see if it's there?
