iTunes does often have higher quality artowork than other sources, so there's nothing wrong getting covers from there. The thing to do is make sure the artowork is imbedded. You can use a script to automate this process for a selection of tracks instead of dong one at a time like I mentioned previously. Here's a link to the script: http://nslog.com/2006/09/24/itunes_artwork_in_id3/ I'm the person who first outlined the 10 steps that inspired the script. :) -- MelonMonkey Bruno *'Twisted Melon - Fine Mac OS Software' (http://twistedmelon.com) | 'mira - Personal Control for your Apple Remote' (http://twistedmelon.com)* MelonMonkey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8466 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30558 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Those songs missing artork in Slimserver must have been using iTunes artwork. I replaced with artwork from other sources, did a clear and rescan, and all is well. At a guess, I suspect the names of your artwork files may not always be correct if you are cutting and pasting them from Amazon into the album folders. Are all the files called folder.jpg / cover.jpg / album.jpg or thumb.jpg ? May I recommend 'this section' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?AlbumArtwork) of the wiki for an explanation as to how Artwork works in Slimserver ? There are also some semi-automatic tools that will do this for you (although perhaps not automatically for both Slimserver and IPOD). I use Tag Rename and 'Album Art Aggregator' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=29814highlight=aggregator) -- Siduhe Siduhe's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=723 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30558 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

If pasting into the file using iTunes, filenames don't matter. And Randy is pasting. Randy, are you sure iTunes isn't picking up some of its artwork from the iTunes store? If so, that artwork isn't automatically included inside the music files and therefore also not available to Slimserver. Test this... Select some of the offending tracks in iTunes that are using the same image. Right-click in the image preview in the bottom left of the iTunes window. Select COPY. Now Get Info on the tracks. Click in the Album Art box on the right of the Info window. Press CTRL-V to paste the image. Press OK. Since you're using 6.5.1 you *may* have to do a clear and rescan to pick up the artwork. Try a simply update scan first. The other (more painful) issue might be that the tag structure in the files are messed up. If that's the case you can use a tool to strip/eliminate all tags and then re-add them from scratch using iTunes. -- MelonMonkey Bruno *'Twisted Melon - Fine Mac OS Software' (http://twistedmelon.com) | 'mira - Personal Control for your Apple Remote' (http://twistedmelon.com)* MelonMonkey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8466 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30558 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Randy, are you sure iTunes isn't picking up some of its artwork from the iTunes store? If so, that artwork isn't automatically included inside the music files and therefore also not available to Slimserver. That may be - I found the new tool in iTunes to get artwork and used it a few times - that is probably the artwork that shows on the iPod but not in Slimserver.. I will try that next to see if it fixes things.
