I had a similar experience with my remote. In my case it was a broken
solder pad at one pin of the infrared diode. I opened the remote,
resoldered it and it works perfect now.

[slim] SB3 remote on the blink???

Dear all,

For some time now my remote doesn't seem to recognize the letters
anymore when skipping through "genre". So for instance, when I want to
skip to "Classical", I would normally push the "ABC" button rapidly 3
times, after which Genre would skip to the list of genres starting with
"C".

Well, no more. It sometimes goes to "80-s", followed by "Zouk", and
then freezes.

Any idea whether this is a software issue, or the remote can go into
the bin?
