[slim] Simple question.
Is the Slim Devices Squeezebox Classic the exact same (save for branding) as the Logitech v.3? -- loosetooth loosetooth's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=40286 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81717 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Simple question.
Yes, but be careful, some of the early SB3/Classics did not include a WiFi card. Also there are demo units going around on used sites like ebay. These demo units are not usable. -- toby10 toby10's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81717 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Simple question? How to download and album and listen to it right away?
As posted above, if your new music resides in/under your Music Folder then Just use Browse Music Folder and, well, browse to the folder the music is in. As a side effect, this adds the music to the music library. If, however, your new music does not reside in/under your music folder, or you only want to listen to something, without adding it to you music library e.g. podcast, something on a visiting usb stick etc, Then you can use the Tune In URL feature from the web interface to point to a file or folder, and use the Tune In or Add buttons as appropriate. This has been mentioned previously http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=42835 http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=41470 and probably elsewhere. What would be really neat, is if someone could come up with a shell extension, so this capability is available directly in the file explorer context menu - similar to foobar2000s play in, enqueue in foobar2000 options (Note: I understand some of this is windows specific, but I the approach is general) -- Grahame Grahame's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1200 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=70869 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

There is an 'AutoRescan plugin' (http://www.hickinbottom.com/autorescan), but it seems somewhat tricky to use. My main concern besides that is that I normally make several changes in a row (edit tags, add cover art, move and rename files), and I would not want to trigger an unnecessary rescan for every intermediary step. That is why I haven't tried it so far. -- usch usch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33389 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=70869 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Can the SBIII connect to an iTunes Server without running Squeeze Center? I have two SBIII's and run Squeeze Center on my PC and have been happy for several years. But I just obtained a NAS device that comes preloaded with iTunes Server. (Iomega StarCenter ix2) It does not support Squeeze Center - or at least Iomega says it doesn't. [slim] Simple question folling 6.5.1 installs
Hello all, I have upgraded to latest official release and have had good results thus far though I do have one very simple query that I have so far failed to resolve. On previous versions, Brows Artists, would eventually produce a list of albums which had all songs at the top of this list, selecting all songs would produce a list of all songs from that artist which I am sure was sorted alphabetically. I note that this is no longer the case and the resultant list appears not to be sorted. I changed the settings so that the track number is no longer displayed with the song title but I am left with a list which is not in order. Am I making this up or has something changed which I am not aware of and if so is there an option to have the list sorted by song title by default? I know its not very exciting in the scheme of things but Id love to resolve it if possible. Thanks in anticipation Richard Scales SlimServer is running on Windows 2003 Small Business Server with 2 x wired SB2 and 1 x Wireless SB2 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
