[slim] So I'm just not getting this

2009-10-18 Thread mmduf

I know this has been covered, and I've read all the threads, but wasn't
7.4 supposed to fix the problems switching from Squeezebox Server to my
squeezebox when the server has been shut down? If I had Squeezebox
Server connected, then shut everything down at the end of the day, when
I turn on the Squeezebox again the next day I get nothing. Then I have
to turn it on and off and on again to wake it up, so I can go back
through the menu and connect to my squeezebox. I thought there was
supposed to be a prompt, or better yet, it would automatically connect
to my squeezebox if the local server wasn't available. This is why my
wife won't touch the Squeezebox...

SB3, Windows XP, itunes, 7.4

If you mean from your local SqueezeBoxServer to the universal
mysqueezebox.com,

yes, it was supposed to be transparent.

But its a bit rough right now sometimes for some people.

If you can wait a few weeks, I expect that the bugs will be fixed.

The move to 7.4 was not as smooth as expected by the folks at Logitech.

Think the third party Squeeze plugins and applets are important?
Then 'vote for bug 14194'
(http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=14194) so more can be
made.

I'm just guessing that the developers and Product Managers expected that
the roll out would not be as messy as its been

I've never seen a professional developer be happy releasing code that is
known to be bad. But I have seen cases where it ends up being a lot
uglier than expected.
