I'm wondering if these are known bugs, and what information I need to
look at to determine where the problem is, some help with
troubleshooting this.

I love the whole Slim system, but it's not quite working well enough
for me to be completely satisfied. The specific problem that most
disrupts my enjoyment of the music is that especially in Random Songs
mode, at the beginning of many but not all songs, I'll hear a few
seconds, then there will be a few seconds of silence then the rest of
the song will play fine. Also I note that the display has a delay in
updating to the title of the current track of as long as 15 seconds,
this on all songs.

Some specifics about my sytem:
Server is a Mac G4 400 MHz processor with 704 MB of RAM
(Whether this 6 year old computer is too under-powered to Slimserve
music and do anything else at the same time is one of my concerns)
Mac OS 10.3.9
Slimserver v. 6.2.1
Sqeezebox 3, Firmware v. 28
Server has a wired connection to the wireless access point, and the
Squeezebox is connecting wirelessly to the access point about 4 meters
away. I live next to a large apartment building, so the WiFi environment
is pretty congested, but none of them on the same WiFi channel as me. No
encryption currently, though that may change soon.
I play mostly flac but some mp3, shn, and ape files. My libray
currently has about 19,000 songs, in various folders on various
external drives with symbolic links in the music folder pointing to
them.

I don't really understand anything about interpreting the debugging
data, or what particular data I should be looking at. I guess I'm
mainly wondering if these are known bugs that have maybe been fixed in
the beta versions, or how to determine whether the problem is in my CPU
or my network or what.

Thanks for any help. Folks on this forum have been really helpful in
the past.

The chaos on this planet is due to the music that musicians are playing
that they are forced to play by some who just think of money and don't
realize that music is a spiritual language, and it represents the
people of Earth. When musicians are compelled to play anything, it goes
straight to the throne of the Creator of the universe, and that is how
He sees you: according to your music... It's what goes to the Creator
as your personal ambassador - and your personal nemesis.
