I've had a similar problem/s here and trust this is the appropriate thread. Upgraded to V7.4 of Squeezebox Server Update of the SB3 appeared to go fine. However I seemed to experience multiple issues: The SB3 screen was blank at most times apart from when it was updating and a couple of times when it was finding the Squeezebox Server. From the server UI, it appeared that the SB3 was indeed recognised but the SB3 screen was blank and I found no way to remedy that. Reading through a number of threads here gave me the idea that the remote was somehow playing up as well. On investigating the server web UI, it would not load the 'Remote' page. To cut a long story short, there seemed to be a number of issues and I suspect the migration to V7.4 didn't go too well. I followed the Wiki article advice on doing a clean install of V7.4 and this seems to have fixed the issues, though I need to re-do all the preferences, of course and I've yet to play any music .. so, we'll see. I'm hoping this update will also fix the old issue I had. That is . . when the computer running Squeezebox Server goes to sleep, the SB3 will finish the current track playing and then just stop. Hi. After updating to SC 7.4 and firmware 130, the display turns black after connecting SB3 to Squeezecenter. On SB3, after disconnect of power and turn on again it is possible to connect to mysqueezebox.com. The problem seems like the Firewall problem when running SC on windows(XP). But My system is a Mac Mini 1.8GHz Duo core with OSX 10.6 installed and the firewall turned off. To verify the problem I did downgrade again to SC 7.3.4 and firmware 127. Just a stab in the dark (because I don't know squat about what various pieces of hardware inside the Squeezebox do), but wasn't there a secret button press combo on the remote for an older Squeezebox that forced it to reset its Xilinx chip? The secret combo to update the xilinx FPGA is to hold down power (which causes a reboot) OR unplug and replug the unit. When you see the 'Logitech' start scrolling across the screen, press '1' on the remote. You should see the words 'Programming xilinx' on the screen. -- ChrisOwens Christopher Owens QA Manager ch...@slimdevices.com ChrisOwens's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4240 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68656 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Upgrade killed my SqueezeBox remote
I have upgraded to SC7.4 and my Favorites have disappeared. Am I supposed to find them in MySqueezebox (this has only my SN Favorites, not the Folders and Favorites that were in SC7.3) and if so how do they synchronise to SC. If the two lots of favourites remain independent have my SC Favorites been junked and do I have to re-enter them all again. (For what it is worth I did click on the No when invited to delete my logs, etc when upgrading.) As a separate point, entering a name in Music Library Name in SB Server Control Panel has no effect on the My Music menu. Does this hint at the same or a different problem, please. Lastly, I note in the release notes that Now, when you turn off Squeezebox Server you'll be prompted to switch to MySqueezebox.com to continue listening to music. How and when does this happen, I just get the same cannot connect to server on the SB and then everything goes quiet. (To check my status I have tried looking in 1. Go to Settings-Home Menu, 2. Scroll down to almost bottom of list, 3. Click on Switch to mysqueezebox.com but I get stuck at the first item, what and where are the Home Menu - I cannot find it in SC Settings nor in MySqueeze Account Settings.) [slim] Upgrade killed my SqueezeBox remote
Hi. I Just installed v.7.4 of the SlimServer software + Squeezebox upgrade. I own a Squeezebox II. Now I can't use the remote control with the Squeezebox. - I can use the web interface fine - I can use the remote to setup the Squeezebox - obtain IP address etc. But I can't start, stop, navigate the menu, power on/off or anything. I've re-instsalled the update, but still no joy. Any way to fix this, or to downgrade? check the settings in the web ui. click on the player tab, then select remote. Try checking all options again, and hitting reply. The prefs for the ir maps are full pathnames, so if something ever got customised along the way, the migration may not be taking that into account. -k -- kdf kdf's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68656 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Upgrade killed my SqueezeBox remote
This is what happened to me last night. Mine's a SB Classic, used with a MacBook Pro. I appreciate reading the technical assistance in the post just above mine but, frankly, I don't really understand it. I hope, when I try to follow it that it will all make sense. I have to say, this SB is a great product when it works, but it is SO deceptive. The instructions present a simple, intuitive walk through installation process, but NOTHING has worked as presented, and everything I've done has required technical assistance. Same when a relative bought the Duet. Had to get a IT friend with years experience in to figure it out. It took 2 days. I thought I'd save a pile of money, and get a super cool product for a song with this thing. Instead, I'm developing an aneurism. I'm quite confident that I'll be spending $3 or 4 k on a transport pretty soon, and the SB will end up a pile of plastic shards under the wheels of my car.
