[slim] Why 'download' link in songinfo?
I've always wondered why there is a 'download' link in the songinfo page. What's the idea behind this? - I always listen to my own collection, so there's no need to download tracks that I already got. - I use the squeezebox at work to listen to my collection at home, and though they can listen too, I don't want my collegues to download my entire collection. That's why i remove the download link in this page manually before 'opening' my collection to others. The only use I can think of is when sharing collections, which would make Slimserver sort of 'peer to peer' program, which I don't think it is intended to be. -- SlimPvC ___ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

I personally have no idea (its been there since before I came along), but I've seen the complaints when it didn't work. I've also seen the requests (and debate) over having a feature to more easily download an entire album. apparently song by song is just far too annoying. my personal stance would be to avoid all download and upload of song files via slimserver. -k ___ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

my personal stance would be to avoid all download and upload of song files via slimserver. Mine too. That seems a little outside the core functionality to me. Obviously someone wanted it enough to implement it, though. Kevin -- Kevin O.
