I don't think we should slate this guy. He saw a limited offer bargain and decided to share it with the forum. Had he have waitied till he was home, most of us would have missed the offer - indeed it is not on there today. Your alternative suggestions, whilst helpful and valid may not be appropriate. I notice (from the disclaimer!) that he works in a financial institution, as do I. All external email systems are blocked (under penalty of disiplinary action) as it breaks FSA rules on auditing. Gmail springs immediately to mind. I second that - Gmail works well in exactly the way you describe that you want to use it; leave it open in a browser, and it quietly refreshes itself every minute or two, making it easy to see unread messages at any point. Works just as well for multiple forums (slim, slim-beta, etc) via filters/labels. Plus, you get your signal/noise ratio back in the black :) And you can set it to keep emails there and forward them too. You can also use it as a POP server if you want to read emails in your regular client. -- Bill Burns Long Island NY USA http://ftldesign.com ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Surely someone has suggested webmail already? Is that not an option? You could probably even get a webmail account that automatically forwards messages to your work address so you only have to access the webmail interface for sending email, not receiving it. -- rudholm rudholm's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2980 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=24356 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
