Re: [slim] bridge DHCP problems
I had a similar problem with my SB3. It worked fine until I hooked my XBOX up to the ethernet bridge. When I powered on the XBOX neither the SB nor the XBOX would connect. It turned out the problem was I had manually set the MAC address of the NIC in the XBOX to be the same as another machine on the wired segment of my network. I simply removed the over ride from the XBOX and all was well. Perhaps theres some MAC address spoofage happening somewhere? -- vendor vendor's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11069 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34191 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] bridge DHCP problems
I am using an SB3 as a bridge to my girlfriend's PC. Both the SB3 and her PC are using DHCP. I have seen no problems with it. I'm happy to provide additional details on our setup, if desired. I've turned the bridge on and off several times to check that it wasn't just a one off problem. I'm happily working now with static IPs and the bridge enabled, but would prefer DHCP. -- pza pza's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11011 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34191 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Using the Sb as a bridge with DHCP (both for the Sb and the device connected through it) worked fine for me on Sb2/Sb3 gear up through slimserver 6.5.1/firmware 72. I don't think I've used the bridge since upgrading to slimserver 6.5.2/firmware 76. -- peterw http://www.tux.org/~peterw/ free plugins: http://www.tux.org/~peterw/#slim BlankSaver BottleRocket FuzzyTime SaverSwitcher SleepFade StatusFirst VolumeLock peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34191 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
