You don't need to define the port number, but you have to open them up on
your office's firewall/router (9000 & 3438)

[slim] connecting a slimp3 to a non-local squeeze center

2009-05-22 Thread dborod

Hi,

I've got an old slimp3 that was gathering dust at the office (sorry)
that I've brought home. I can point at SC running on my laptop at home,
but what I really want is to point it to the squeeze center I've got
running at the office.

I can connect to my office SC from various devices at home using the
web interface, softsqueeze, and squeeze slave by supplying the IP
address and port 9000.

The slimp3 setup lets me specify the IP address but not a port number.
I have updated the firmware to 2.3

Am I trying to do something impossible? If not, how can I accomplish my
goal?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
