[slim] newbie question upgrading Slimserver

2006-02-14 Thread jasleinstein

I am a new user of slimbox. When up grading to new versions of
slimserver is it ok to copy the SQL file to a temp location then
replacing it after the new install?
I have a large music library and the scans take up to ten hours to run.

Also is there a faster method to scan the music library?
I am not a Itunes user.

thanks

Slimserver will only rescan your collection if there have been changes to
the database structure. It's in these cases where you can't just copy and
replace the file.

But taking backups is still a good idea ;-).
