Re: [slim] Cannot Scan Multiple Disks with Mac Version of Squeezecenter 7
I know this is an old thread but I could really use some help. I followed the steps and created a Symlink of a folder in one of my folders. I then rescanned Squeeze Center and the only things that showed up are the original files in that folder, it appears the Symlink did not work. What should I do?? Re: [slim] Cannot Scan
I have solved my problems by upgrading to the latest nightly of Squeezecenter. After a delete and rescan everything seems to be okay. In answer to David. There were no special characters and these albums appeared fine in the past. Re: [slim] Cannot Scan
See if the tracks you cannot scan have odd characters in them. If you look at the end of this thread you'll see I was having problems like that: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48195 never got to the bottom of why this was happening, but it's a machine issue rather than SC as far as I can see. -- bigfool1956 David Ayers Music is what counts, hifi just helps us enjoy it more bigfool1956's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13782 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49111 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

SlimServer/SqueezeCenter can't use OS X aliases... you need to create a symlink. There's no easy, GUI-based way to do this with 10.4 (I haven't upgraded to 10.5 yet so I don't know if they've added that functionality). I use a third-party application called Make Symlink (found 'here' (http://www.naratt.com/MakeSymlink.html)). It installs as a context menu (accessed via either a right-click or Ctrl-Click) and is easy to use. Install Make Symlink, right-click on the other music folders, and select Make Symlink from the context menu. That's pretty much all you need to do! Copy the symlink into the folder SqueezeCenter is set to use for music and rescan your library. You should be all set. -=> Jim -- JimC "well, she wasn't all of that, but she sure was some of that." -- BKlaas' college buddy JimC's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9428 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43567 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
