Not legally. They tried to ensure you couldn't do this, although it's
apparently easier to do this than to get WAV off an SACD.

Re: [slim] DVD files

Never mind. I realized that this program is for extracting movie
soundtracks and converting them to .wav files etc. What I am looking
for is something that will convert the audio on a DVD Audio disc to a
.wav file. Does such a thing exist ?

Re: [slim] DVD files

Ron F.

I have been using DVD Audio Ripper V4.0 and cannot seem to get a higher
depth than 16 bit when converting DVD Audio files to .wav files. When
looking at the drop down menu the lowest bit rate seems to be 32 but it
nonetheless winds up at 16.

I am ripping from a 24 bit/48 Khz disc. Any ideas ?

Re: [slim] DVD files

Thanks guys. I was hoping it would play DVD files already on my HDD, so
I wouldn't have to rip them. It'd be nice if the SB had a video output
too, but I'm just dreaming.

Cliston,

I have been using DVD Audio Ripper V.4.0 with pretty good results. I
then convert the resulting WAV files to FLAC using DBpowerAMP.

Re: [slim] DVD files

2007-05-14 Thread Mark Lanctot

The audio would have to be ripped into a format SlimServer could
understand - WAV, for example. There are both Windows and Linux
programs that can do this. You can even get SlimServer to pass the
files through digitally as Dolby Digital or DTS files to a receiver,
search the forum.

If you're trying to play back DVD audio while watching the DVD video on
another device that would be impossible due to synchronization issues.
