Re: [slim] Maximizing the network

I think this is due to the load of the network. I can only hear flac (or ALAC) by night or in the weekend...I have a 4Mbit network... The problem is that the flac is interrupted..and perhaps this could be solved getting larger chunks of the song. Is there any way to configure this in slimeserver or in the client? Find the Player Settings Audio and set the bitrate limiting to something less than 320kbps. You're going to be limited by the outgoing speed of the work network, or the incoming speed of the home network, whichever is lower. -- JJZolx Jim JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34731 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

If you're borderline you might find that there are certain times of day when you still get drop outs. This is certainly true of my situation, where I can only stream 128kbps at times during the workday, but comfortably stream at 192kbps or even 256kbps at nights and on weekends. Like most folks, I'm streaming in the opposite direction from you - from my SlimServer at home to SoftSqueeze at work. -- JJZolx Jim JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34731 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
