Certainly the wired-only SB3 model was dropped, but I don't remember exactly when. My (admittedly fuzzy) recollection is that the wired-only SB3 was dropped *before* Logitech bought SlimDevices. My equally fuzzy recollection is that the all-black (black metal faceplate with black plastic case) SB3 came after the wired-only models were dropped. The black plastic with silver faceplate was definitely made in both wired-only and wifi models. Looks like the black one came out in Dec 2006, and in Jan 2007 the price changed 'from $249' to 'from $299'. So it seems reasonable to assume that that coincides with droping the wired version. All Logitech-branded ones are wireless.
