The indicator is whether the main menu offers to "Turn Den On" or "Turn Den Off". :-) The 'sole button on the Receiver' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SBRFrontButtonAndLED) acts like a Pause button, if pressed briefly. If you run Squeezebox Server, you can use my 'KidsPlay plugin' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/KidsPlay.html) to redefine the button on the Receiver as a Power button. So you could just tap the Receiver's button and wait for it to "turn off" (go silent) before switching off your amp. Also note that the brightness of the light of the Receiver button indicates whether it's playing music. -- peterw http://www.tux.org/~peterw/ Free plugins: 'AllQuiet' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/AllQuiet.html) 'Auto Dim/AutoDisplay' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/AutoDisplay.html) 'BlankSaver' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/BlankSaver.html) 'ContextMenu' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/ContextMenu.html) 'DenonSerial' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/DenonSerial.html) 'FuzzyTime' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/FuzzyTime.html) 'KidsPlay' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/KidsPlay.html) 'KitchenTimer' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/KitchenTimer.html) 'PlayLog' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/PlayLog.html) 'PowerCenter/BottleRocket' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/PowerCenter.html) 'SaverSwitcher' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SaverSwitcher.html) 'SettingsManager' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SettingsManager.html) 'SleepFade' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SleepFade.html) 'StatusFirst' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/StatusFirst.html) 'SyncOptions' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SyncOptions.html) 'VolumeLock' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/VolumeLock.html) peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=75849 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Synchronize Play without Power
So i need to remember pressing pause, or need to remember to scroll through the controller and turn receiver off. Just wanted to collect ideas how you handle this. I mean the controler has no indicator if the controlled device is on or in standby and has no (hardware) button to power it off. can i figure out (in software) if the controller is in the craddle? Having the controller in the craddle for more then one hour is a very good indicator (for me) that the receiver needs to power off. I think i will look into this and do some tests. -- fragfutter fragfutter's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=35184 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=75849 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Yes, but that's how it is supposed to work when you don't sync the power switch. I think what you want is "Sync power off, but not power on" - I don't believe that is currently possible, but maybe someone can write a plugin for that? -- usch usch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33389 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=75849 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Synchronize Play without Power
i never switch off the controller ;) Just place it in the craddle. There is a menu point to turn off the receiver, but i normaly don't do that. To phrase my problem in other words. I start an internet stream on radio and receiver (synced, yes i know they are proxied), then i turn off the radio by pressing the power button on the radio. The receiver will continue to receive the stream. I will never notice because the amp of the receiver is turned off. So it will happily stream the whole night. Thinking about it, what happens if a sleep timer on one SB powers off the SB. Will synchronized players also power off (guess not)? Will they stop playing? -- fragfutter fragfutter's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=35184 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=75849 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

In sync mode the stream is always proxied by the SB server, so it will only be fetched once from the original station. As for the original question, are you sure you are actually switching off the Receiver, not the Controller? -- usch usch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33389 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=75849 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Synchronize Play without Power
So, you have a station, and you are conected on radion and satelite with it. you must have more connection on it. otherwise, you can't swich the chanels. you need to use, like auxiliar for satelite and tuner for radio. hope i was clear, and resolved your issue! -- Spencers Spencers's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36793 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=75849 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
