I was in Fry's this past weekend, too, and was very pleased to see the Squeezebox on display. The only other retail place I've ever seen it was a little Mac shop. It was in the early days of the SB3 and they had a few SB2s left and about a dozen SB3s. If I hadn't actually seen it and been able to admire its beauty up close, I would probably not've bought it -- $300 was a little steep for me to buy sight-unseen. Once I saw it, I knew I had to have it so I looked on the Slimdevices website to start the purchase process and saw that their office was just down the street from me! I bought it online and ran down the next day and picked it up in person. What a swell bunch of guys! On a slight tangent, I bought my Squeezebox from "PC World" over here in UK this week. They and the other members of their group are the biggest high street electronics chain in the UK I think. I guess this is one of the things logitech brings to the party. I still think they are struggling to know where to position it in the stores as I had to search around all the sections I thought it might be in, and then the ones I didnt think it'd be in to track them down. I saw one set up but not running in PCWorld (UK outlet)in Aberdeen recently too, they are also on the PC World christmas gifts flyer that came with Radio Times, or something similar. Yep they had one "set up" in the one I went to too, although it was turned off and the box and remote were under a thick clear plastic enclosure! I might have to look at ebay in the new year :) The crazy thing is at the moment they are going for £160-170 for a used version + p&p and you can buy a brand new one for £179! So should we keep an eye on the Fry's sale ads, or is there a pricing agreement like Apple has?
