Re: [slim] XP installation: Cannot specify network drive for Music Folder
Siduhe and Diana. Many thanks for the reply. Using the IP address worked: \\\music Regards, Paul -- ppmoore ppmoore's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13157 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=41750 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

IIRC, don't you have to use the full UNC format: \\DriveIPAddress\Folder So instead of the name Sblan, you'd have 192.168.1.20 or whatever it is. (Should confess I haven't used WinXP for ages, so I may be misremembering this!) ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] XP installation: Cannot specify network drive for Music Folder
The problem is likely to be related to permissions - there are quite a few threads on this and an FAQ, but the forum search isn't great, so not surprised you couldn't find it. See http://tinyurl.com/35nfwg or http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=33228 (for example). Try changing slimserver settings to "automatically run at login" (instead of run automatically at start up). That should sort it out. If not, please post back with a few more details like what version of Slimserver you are using and someone will try to help you out. -- Siduhe Siduhe's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=723 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=41750 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
