Re: [slim] never been sooo disappointed

This has happened to me when I've rebooted my computer and for some
reason it automatically connected to some neighbor's wireless network
rather than mine. Since SB server and my computer were no longer on the
same network, the server couldn't see the players. Manually reconnecting
to my network solved the problem--good luck.

This is why everyone should change their routers SSID to a unique name,
therefore eliminating any chance of such accidental connections.
There is no simpler router admin function than this basic SSID name
change. ;)

..and so you and your neighbour BOTH have either (a) no WiFi
password at all or (b) the SAME WiFi passwords?? Sheesh.

Re: [slim] never been sooo disappointed

2010-09-20 Thread MrSinatra

the duet kinda sux, in that it can not be easily changed or be flexible
when things change. i find i need the SBC, which i keep at my house,
to re-setup the SBRec which my dad uses with ipeng, if things
change.

ridiculous of course, but it seems to be the way. you USED to be able
to just use squeezeplay (instead of the sbc to set up sbrec), but after
i told slim that, they seem to have purposely removed that ability from
SP! (or broke it accidently, but either way, shameful)

2010-09-17 Thread gizek

Power down every player and squeezebox server.
Power on SB server, wait few minutes to initialize...and power on the
player(s).
Check if players are at correct/needed music source (mysqueezebox.com
or your music library/SB server).

That's for the beginning... :-)

firmware version, wireless or cable connection, connected to a receiver
or preamp, pc running what operating system or server running what
version ssots? did the problem occur after upgrading the players
