okay. strange behavior here. for the first, even if SB shows the albums as four albums, Itunes does not. in itunes it is one album. I did now drop the itunes and went for the folder type of reading my archive instead. there it does show the album as one album! I have checked and rechecked and the Year tag is 1988 on all songs in the album. SqueezeCenter does have any tag writing capability (indeed it can't change your music files at all). The won't be any SqueezeCenter bugs concerning tags in the way you mention (these simple bugs were ironed out years ago, if indeed there were any to begin with!). Get a tagger that will definitely remove *all* tags and start from scratch. I use MP3Tag and when I've had a similar problem, as long as I've set the program to remove all possible flavours of tags (via settings/preferences), it works a treat. I have tried to remove and change all the tags in that particular album, but no sucsess. I have found out that SB is adding a (2003) after the album name and a(2004) on the other one so squeezebox find three different years in that album allthough there are NO different year tagging in that album. Your SB (and for that matter, SqueezeCenter) doesn't add any tags whatsoever -- they don't have that capability, or even the ability to write to your music files. What format are your files? If they are MP3, I bet you have conflicting ID3v1 and id3v2 tags, or maybe even some stray APE tags. Make sure that Tag Rename is showing you *all* of the tags, or for that matter, just make sure that you delete any id3v1 tags. I've had this as well only solved it by deleting the albumn and reconverting it from CD through EAC. The albumns that were affected were the ones that were converted in Yahoo Music Engine. Try mp3tag and look in the extended tag section. Make sure your artist tags and your album tags are exactly the same. It's not a bug, it's a tagging problem. I have a problem with my track numbers not aligning with the shown albumn tag or they start with the last track numbers and go downward which is just the opposite as MP3Tag program is showing once I get the Albumn information. So when I go on my album track lists I pick one song and the wrong song plays on that Albumn. Can you help me with that? Or have any ideas how to get the tracks to be the same so I don't have to change them by hand to line up with each other. I have the Squeezebox Duet. I generally find this happens if the 'artists' tag is different for different songs on the same LP. I first noticed this with G3, as the artists tag is correctly naming each member of the trio, but it means that one G3 CD comes up as 4 Albums (one for each member of the trio and one for all three together for the encores)I bet there are three guys in A'Ha!. Part of the reason I moved away from Itunes - you can edit the tags but it will, if its set to get tags and artwork from the store, change them back again. Just as frustrating as M$ Media player which can do the same. Finally fixed it with dbPoweramp and a change from ALAC to Flac.
