Then I reinstalled 7.0.1, did a complete rescan, looked for a song with Ü, tried if it plays, it didn´t. Then I started iTunes from my windows-machine and converted this song to mp3 (accessed the usb-disk connected to my ubunutu-machine via samba). The mp3 file is ok, but Let me recapitulate this... you have an external USB disk (fat32?) connected to your linux box, shared using Samba, sharing the iTunes.xml file? Re: Special Characters like #345; and
This is a know bug and is being worked on. Expect to see some improvement in SqueezeCenter 7 when it is released. In the mean time, yes, renaming your files is really the only fix. But you don't need to do it manually. If you are running Slimserver under windows, I wrote a little utility program that will rename all your files in one shot, stripping out any characters with diacritic marks. You can then re-run the utility at a later time to restore the filenames to their original state. Let me know if you are interested. -- gharris999 gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=42512 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
