Re: [Discuss-gnuradio] MacPorts and GNU Radio 32-bit

2010-03-13 Thread Cosmin S

Hi,

I get another try to install gnuradio with macports.
Just because I saw that is a new libsdl-develport that could resolve the
previous issues with the use of TVRX on a GR/(ppc)OSX system.
So gnuradio-video-sdl was installed with libsdl-devel and not libsdl, to be
closed to the Linux used packages.

But now I encounter a new issue concearning the python wxwrappers:

Python wxWidgets wrappers (py25-wxpython and wxWidgets, I mean) are installed
and active but when I want to install the gnuradio-wxgui port I get :
checking for Python wxWidgets wrappers = 2.8... no.

Same issue for numeric (py25-numpy and py25-numeric are already installed and
active).

I precise that I run on a Tiger ppc os.

Have you encountered the same issues on Tiger or Leopard?

Best,

Cosmin.

2009-10-21 Thread [ Cosmin ]

Hello,
With the GIT version of Gnuradio, after,./bootstrap./configure (with or without
options),
I have this error:config.status: error: cannot find input file:
`gruel/Makefile.in'

Maybe this error take this source in the .gitignore files, I don't know, but
all the Makefile.in in the [gruel] folder seems to be need for ./configure.
Any Ideas?

 Hi all,

As I wrote in my previous mail, we're working on an universal clock
source for USRP (and not only for USRP). It is based on 0.28ppm TCXO
 from Connor Winfield [1], National Semiconductor LMX2531 VCO+PLL [2]
and LMK01000 CD [3] for clock generation and Atmel ATUSB for control.
So far we've finished PCB design and working on production of the first
25 units. We'll reserve 5 of them for our own use and testing of
different options, 8 others are requested by community people, so there
are more then 10 left for sale. We plan to finish production at
the beginning of Dec and take units to 26C3. If you plan to attend it,
you have a great chance to see them, play with them and take some of
 them with you. ;)

As we promised, units form this experimental batch will be sold out
for only $100 or 66EUR (without shipping). We kindly invite everyone
interested in such unit to get one and try fitting it to your setup.
Also we need your help determining the best feature set for the unit
(read on for the ample list of possible features). We aim at creating
a really flexible and cheap clocking unit, which may used by a broad
GnuRadio community and will best fit its needs. Unit with open source
 software and open hardware.

Now, lets get to facts. Board dimensions are 86x44mm (3.4 x 1.7) -
it is designed to work inside of USRP box with RFX boards installed
 with no external connections.

 Default distribution version includes:
 1) Clock board with default options
 2) U.FL to SMA cable to connect to USRP
 3) Power cable to connect to USRP's fan connector

 Default board options:
 1) Control from miniUSB or 16-pin connector on USRP daughter boards.
It will be possible to write a GNURadio block to control clocks right
 from GNURadio flowgraph!
 2) Power from 2-pin connector for connecting to USRP fan power
connector and 2-pin pass-throw to connect fan to. That is board is
 connected between USRP and fan.
 3) One U.FL clock output with ability to generate frequency in the main
range 2.84-65.83MHz, and additional ranges 65.91-71.82MHz,
72.5-79MHz, and more ranges higher with =0.44Hz step. Output
levels are CMOS. This means that you can tune your clock precisely
 ti whatever frequency you want.
 4) Initial frequency calibration 1ppm, temperature stability 0.28ppm,
holdover stability over 24h 0.32ppm [1]. Clock jitter will be measured
when first units arrive to us, I'll post measurement results here.

Pretty simple and flexible isn't it? But what makes this clock unit really
universal is a set of available options. You may solder them by yourself
or request ready-to-use units from us - I will make some notes on price
changes and options compatibility below, mail me for details if you're
interested in particular configuration. We want to be as flexible as
possible to fulfill community need in flexible clock source.

 So

2009-05-14 Thread [ Cosmin ]

Hello,
I have 2 USRP model 1.
On the first one (called Alpha) I've put the Basic RX and the LFRX daughter
boards.
On the second one (called Beta) I've put the TVRX and the DBSRX.
I've connected both Alpha and Beta on a mac mini via the usb cables.
What I expect to do is a relative hudge bandwich (from DC to 2.4GHz) RX tunning
system.
Now I would like to know if plugging the 2 USRP in the same time is safe for
the hardware.
Am I forced to synchronyse the clock?
And if yes Where could I find some visuals helping me doing that.
Best Regards,
Cosmin

course for using net.pd I have to run a puredata [1] or pd-extended [1]
application. But how to incorporate the ENTRY.py, svr.py and

   Achilleas --- Hello, everyone,
We've just got two USRPs in our lab and we want to start using them to do
some demodulation. I'd like to use one of them to transmit the sum of two
(uncoded) signals, useful and interference, with possible relative scaling to
simulate different channels. At the receiver side, I wanna then implement
different demodulators, like treating interference as noise or successive
demodulation (demodulate interference, cancel and demodulate user). Is
there any reference I could take a look on how to implement this in USRP? Many

[Discuss-gnuradio] usrp-gnuradio-puredata

2009-01-12 Thread [ Cosmin ]

Dears,I would like to develop a patch in puredata [1] that offers the
possibility of using the USRP via GnuRadio trough interactive programmed-object
interface. For this, the GnuRadio GUI is not needed (I presume), but I have to
find out how It could be possible to pilot every tasks normally provided by a
GUI directly from puredata (like in the way of WebSDR but with no GUI) .There
are several objects in pd that coulb be used for that:- netsend and
netreceive via TCP/IP and UDP- pd-py (compiled via pd-flext) [at this day I
was not able to compile it on Debian nor OSX...work in progress]Maybe netsend
and netreceive could do that easely. But first I would like to know if It's
possible to make communicating GnuRadio and puredata. This developpment could be
very useful for GnuRadio and the USRP:- possibility to automatize every tasks
to the USRP - interactive processes- network connectivity using pd (like WebSDR
but without Java...)Maybe you can advice me or even work toghether for the
developpment of this project.Best regards,Cosmin[1] http://puredata.info/Pd
(aka Pure Data) is a real-time graphical programming environmentfor audio,
video, and graphical processing. It is the third major branch of the family of
patcher programming languages known as Max (Max/FTS, ISPW Max, Max/MSP, jMax,
etc.) originally developed by Miller Puckette and company at IRCAM. The core of
Pd is written and maintained by Miller Puckette and includes the work of many
developers, making the whole package very much a community effort.Pd was
created to explore ideas of how to further refine the Max paradigm with the
core ideas of allowing data to be treated in a more open-ended way and opening
it up to applications outside of audio and MIDI, such as graphics and video. It
is easy to extend Pd by writing object classes (externals) or patches
(abstractions). The work of many developers is already available as part of
the standard Pd packages and the Pd developer community is growing rapidly.
Recent developments include a system of abstractionsfor building performance
environments; a library of objects for physical modeling; and a library of
objects for generating and processing video in realtime.Pd is free software and
can be downloaded either as an OS-specific package, source package, or directly
from CVS. Pd was written to be multi-platform and therefore is quite portable;
versions exist for Win32, IRIX, GNU/Linux, BSD, and MacOS X running on anything
from a PocketPC to an old Mac to a brand new PC. It is possible to write
externals and patches that work with Max/MSP and Pd using flext and cyclone.

a ton for pointing this out; otherwise I would have been confused for

I have the same problem on iBook G4 1.33GHz 10.4.8
But my Xcode version is 2.5
So what I have to do?
To downgrade to Xcode 2.4.1?
