If UHD source acts as a mixer, why some examples (like usrp_rx_hrpt) use
baseband information as the input of a PLL?

[Discuss-gnuradio] Costas loop in HRPT receiver

Hello,

 

I’ve heard about costas loop to obtain the carrier of a PSK signal. But I
don’t know how it is implemented the carrier recovery in the hrpt example of
gr-noaa in order to demodulate the BPSK signal. I would appreciate some help
with this topic.

[Discuss-gnuradio] aUaU FM receiver

Hi,

 

I built a FM receiver working with a LiveUSB and a USRPB100 device. It
worked fine, but when I installed Ubuntu and GNURadio in a virtual machine,
the audio is distorted. The console types ‘aU’ letters. But I generate a wav
file and the quality is good, the problem is with the audio sink.

[Discuss-gnuradio] Clock recovery in HRPT receiver

I am checking the HRPT receiver available in gr-noaa repository and I don't
understand the parameters of the Clock Recovery block with the information
available about the HRPT format. I roughly know how that block works,
but Ineedmore information.

[Discuss-gnuradio] How to build an HRPT receiver with USRPB100

Hello,

I've searched some information about HRPT format. I know the modulation
that is used and the frame format, but I have no idea how to built it using
GNU radio. Furthermore, I checked the gr-noaa repository but it hardly
appears information about the different block used for HRPT demodulation
and decoding (HRPT PLL, deframer...) There are a lot of parameters whose
function or purpose is unknown for me. Please I need some help.

[Discuss-gnuradio] How to check that HRPT receiver is working

I am working with the HRPT receiver’s files included in gr-noaa and I don’t
understand how them work because several blocks are created and use
different parameters that are not explained so I’d appreciate your help to
understand them. Also, in case I understand them, if I want to check that
the receiver is working, how can I do it? Are there any files available?

[Discuss-gnuradio] Noisy APT images

Hi,

I'm trying to receive APT images from NOAA with a QHA antenna and I
received noisy images. I use a usrp source block, then a low pass filter
with 50 kHz of cutoff and 20 kHz of transition width, then a WBFM receiver
and a resampler connected to the audio sink. I think that I should change
the parameters of the filter.

I was wondering if someone can receive hrpt images from NOAA satellites or
similar, if so, could you help me with the implementation of the receiver?
There is not quite information about that format, so if you could help me I

In the FM receiver: Why a LPF is used instead of a BPF in order to select
the Radio channel that we want to hear? That is the only part I don't
understand.

[Discuss-gnuradio] How to set the bandwidth in WX GUI FFT Sink

Hello,

I have a USRP B100 from Ettus and I am receiving FM Radio. I plotted the RF
Spectrum and the baseband spectrum in a notebook, but I don't know how to
change the frequency axis or zoom in the graph. I want to know if it
possible to change the frequency in the same graph as well.

I tried to do it but I can't. I am a newbie so I really appreciate your
help.
