Thanks for the hint.

I'm now running the channel using FLAC compression in streaming mode,
and it seems to be working
  fairly well.  Took the network load down from about 1.6Mbit/sec to
around 650Kbit/sec.

[Discuss-gnuradio] Real-time audio compression

Anyone know of any open-source, audio compression technologies that
scale to 96KHz sample rates?


I'm looking for something that can compress on the fly an audio
channel that has spectral components
  up to the nyquist limit.


From my brief reading on the subject, it seems like FLAC might work, but
it's only good up to 65K sample
  rates?
