http://www.asphelp.com/ASPWhoIs/Default.htm chuckle Funny that a site called ASP Help would publish pages with a .htm extension. You'd think they'd automatically make everything a .asp page! By the way, I found that the spreadsheet hangs (for unknown reasons) in Office XP Beta 2. Haven't yet tried it with the XP Corporate Preview Regards, Eric Longman Atl-Connect Internet Services +---+ | Atl-Connect Internet Services http://www.atlcon.net | | 3600 Dallas Hwy Ste 230-288 770 590-0888 | | Marietta, GA 30064-1685[EMAIL PROTECTED] | +---+ - Original Message - From: Giuseppe Aielli [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: George Kirikos [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, April 24, 2001 8:54 AM Subject: R: Excel Spreadsheet to track registrar changes (to avoid hijacking) Hello, nice work. Re: Excel Spreadsheet to track registrar changes (to avoid hijacking)
Shameless self-promotion, I know, but we've had a free whois tracker for a while now: http://www.easywhois.com/ - Colin
RE: Excel Spreadsheet to track registrar changes (to avoid hijacking)
With self promotion like this you should also mention that ASPWhois is not being offered for free but requires payment. This spreadsheet is offered for free to all resellers. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Giuseppe Aielli Sent: Tuesday, April 24, 2001 7:54 AM To: George Kirikos Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: R: Excel Spreadsheet to track registrar changes (to avoid hijacking) Hello, nice work. Hi, just to make know I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH ASP help. I have only bought ASPWhois a couple of days ago, and I do not think EVERY single software has to be free. However forget it, and excuse me. gsa -Messaggio originale- Da: easygoing [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Inviato: martedì 24 aprile 2001 18.03 A: Giuseppe Aielli; George Kirikos Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Oggetto: RE: Excel Spreadsheet to track registrar changes (to avoid hijacking) With self promotion like this you should also mention that ASPWhois is not being offered for free but requires payment. Then there's also phpwhois.com, which is the whois class object that powers easywhois, and it's GPL-ed -mark On Tue, 24 Apr 2001, Giuseppe Aielli wrote: Hi, just to make know I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH ASP help. I think everyone needs to breathe (in, out) and learn how to read. :) *My* post was shameless promo. I never said Giuseppe's was. And *I* was able to realize that he has nothing to do with ASPWhois. He was just suggesting it as a tool if anyone else wanted to build a whois tracker. - Colin
Excel Spreadsheet to track registrar changes (to avoid hijacking)
Hello, --- alan [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I 'm painfully having our office verify all 350 domains that belong to our Company and Clients that are Registered through OpenSRS. I did a quick hack in Excel today that can automate the process somewhat. It's a bit ugly, but it seems to work. See the solution at: http://www.loffs.com/Domains/Tools/tools.html One can input all of one's domain names, and then have Excel query the WHOIS info to determine the current registrar (OpenSRS = Tucows Inc.) I tried it for 20 different domains (with different registrars), and it seems to work. I'm not sure how robust this spreadsheet is, in terms of error checking, etc., as I didn't get any errors or connection problems to the 'net. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! Hint for Verisign: format your output as tables, so that we can grab the data we need more easily! Sincerely, George Kirikos http://www.kirikos.com/ __ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
