[ACFUG Discuss] Need CF8 RDS consultant

2008-05-20 Thread andrew . fox
I know quite a few members of this group are consultants, and I have a need for
a short project ASAP. We've just upgraded to CF8 (solaris) and are working on
our first Flex application. We need someone who can come in and get RDS
talking to our developer IDEs (Flex Builder and Dreamweaver.)

This application is going into test at the end of June so we're rather pressed
for time. If interested, please contact me via email with a time and cost
estimate, or for more details.

Thanks in advance,

[ACFUG Discuss] CF8 Licenses

2008-05-20 Thread Nunn, Thomas
So we're in the process of upgrading our current CF7 servers to CF8 and
Adobe is telling us that we have to wait until we get the CF8 media from
them. We already have the licenses but I didn't think there was a
difference between the CF8 Enterprise you download and the media they're
going to send. Does anyone know what the difference is, if any?

To the best of my knowledge, you can download the software from their
website like always and upgrade. I've done that on a box or two without
issue if I remember correctly.

RE: [ACFUG Discuss] CF8 Licenses

2008-05-20 Thread bkiser
Larry,

Adobe had us go through the same process, but we downloaded the install from
the website anyway. It is the same thing, you just have to put in your
enterprise license. When we got the media, I took a look at it and it was the
same install, just on a disc. It even had the exact same file size.

As a note, if you are upgrading, you will need to know the CF7 license
information as well.

Thanks Blake and Mike, that was exactly my assumption as well but I
needed some outside voices to say the same thing. Much appreciated.
