[ACFUG Discuss] cf datasources

2009-01-16 Thread Troy Jones
We had an event on one of our servers that has rendered CF unusable and
needing a uninstall/reinstall. However, this means that we will lose our
configured data sources. Does anyone know of a way to get this
information before we uninstall the program or are we just pretty much
SOL?

In your ColdFusion administrator, there is a settings summary that will
capture all of your DSN connection information with the exception of the
username and password for the said connections.

[ACFUG Discuss] RE: cf datasources

2009-01-16 Thread axunderwood
Troy,

Yes, you can keep that information...Depending on what version of CF you're
running, you may need more files to make the backup work...

But, if you're running in full on jrun mode, the path will look like this
c:\jrun4\servers\cfusion\cfusion-ear\cfusion-war\WEB-INF\cfusion\lib

I can't remember what the pathing looks like for a standalone CFMX install, but
you should be able to find it fairly easy...

You'll want to back up that entire lib folder - neo-query.xml was good enough
in cfmx 7 I believe...in 8, there are additional files that I cannot remember.

2009-01-16 Thread Teddy R. Payne
If the CF administrator is unstable, try going to your ColdFusion lib
directory and look for a file named neo-datasource.xml

example:

c:\coldfusion8\lib\neo-datasource.xml

This should be a WDDX packet that has your previously saved DSN information.

This is what you can do.

I remember we had this discussion before and there were 2 options.

1. Using CF Admin, which will not work in your case... A

2. *Cameron* had suggested this. Read below.

If you are reinstalling the same version of CF You can also copy all the
neo-*.xml files out and just drop them back in after you are done.

The CAR file method isn't 100% solid last time I tried it. It actually
missed a few settings.

[ACFUG Discuss] RE: cf datasources

2009-01-16 Thread bkiser
Troy,

If you have CF8, you will need to backup these xml files:

neo-datasource.xml
new-query.xml

They are located cfusion/lib directory. Here is the directory for a routine
Multi-Server Instance install (this may be slightly different depending on your
install).

D:\JRun4\servers\cfusion\cfusion-ear\cfusion-war\WEB-INF\cfusion\lib , the neo
files are located in this directory.

For CF7, just the neo-query.xml file should do. You can then just re-apply
those files and restart CF.

[ACFUG Discuss] Design work

2009-01-16 Thread John Mason
A client of mine is looking to re-design their website. They need to
update the look/style of their site. It's a non-profit but fairly large
organization. You can contact me if you are interested.
