And in my experience with both blog engines, the authors are very responsive
to emails/forum posts. Not a point to one side or the other but good points
to both!

 Dusty,

I'm not sure you'll be able to determine a "most preferred: blog. But I
think you'll find strong supporters both for Ray Camden's BlogCFC (which
 has
been around forever, but is frequently updated) and Mango Blog, from the
 folks at ASFusion.

You can find both at RIAForge, I think. For some reason, Mango Blog
isn't showing up in the search there, although a number of plugins for it
do. But you can find it at mangoblog.org.

Mango, in particular, is built for skinning.

I just updated the feeds that power the cfUpdater system to include the
Solr issue. If you're not using cfUpdater, you really should. It takes
about 2 mins to install and helps you stay up to date.

Hi Folks,

Incase you missed it, Adobe just released a security bulletin for CF9:
http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb10-04.html

Essentially the CF9 solr service runs on port 8983 on your servers
public
IP's, instead of just 127.0.0.1, which leaves your solr collections
open.

The technote to fix it is here:
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/807/cpsid_80719.html

I have blogged some more about it here:

[ACFUG Discuss] AjaxCFC

2010-01-29 Thread Mike Staver
Does anyone have a recent version of AjaxCFC? I've noticed Rob Gonda's
site http://ajaxcfc.com is down, and has been for some time. The most
recent version I have my hands on is dated Sept 2006, and I know there are
newer versions by seeing it here:

http://www.robgonda.com/blog/projects/ajaxcfc/

I see all the updates since the version I have, and then I visit his
latest blog post:

http://www.robgonda.com/blog/index.cfm/2007/8/30/AjaxCFC-Source-Control-Repo-Moved

Anybody happen to get the latest version before the site went MIA? I have
a problem with the version I have and Firefox. Rather than spend time
fixing it myself, I'd love to just take the easy route and get the latest
official version if possible.

That's Tom that's just the kind of input I was looking for. I downloaded
Mango last night. Seems easy to install. I like what I see so far.

One of the guys at the office wrote me this morning to tell me he opened an
account at blogger.com and ask me if we should run multiple blogs. One
integrated into our site and another one at blogger.com. I didn't know what
to tell him. I'm not a blog expert or anything but at the moment I don't
know how it would help to have two which would basically have the same info
on it. Does anyone know if would help or hurt to post the same content to
multiple blogs? Good thing? Bad thing?
