[ACFUG Discuss] Issue with multiple subreports in CF Report Builder

2010-04-20 Thread andrew . fox
In all the years I've been working with CF, I've never needed to use CF Report
Builder until now - and of course I ran into a problem. I'm trying to create a
PDF for an expense report that has a header record and two, possibly three
detail sections. I've got the main report and two of the sub-reports working:
the first sub keys properly off of the REPORT_ID field and returns the expected
number of records; the second sub uses the same key, but it returns all 500+
rows in the table.

Can it handle the second sub-report, and if so, what's the trick? They aren't
nested so I didn't think it would be a big deal...

Thanks in advance for any insight!

Re: [ACFUG Discuss] Problem serving xls file on CF8

2008-07-03 Thread andrew . fox
The files aren't owned by the user that the CF server is running as, but they
are in the same group and that group has both read and execute permissions on
the files/directories in question. This is the same arrangement we had with CF7
as well. I just tried opening a copy of one of the spreadsheets that IS owned
by the user the server is running as - same result: error in 4th level dir,
open in 3rd, but browser flakes out.

You probably know this already but, for anyone else out there that may find
this useful.

ps -ex | grep 'cfusion' (i think on solaris, use -ef on mac/linux)

Your 100% certain that the the owner of the excel files is the same as the
user that apache/CF is running under?

Yup - mine too... The file permissions may be the same, but what
about CF's user? CF8 might be running as a different user than CF7
previously ran as.

[ACFUG Discuss] Problem serving xls file on CF8

2008-07-02 Thread andrew . fox
I've got an application that's been running for years on CF6 and a year on CF7
is choking in a weird way on CF8. The problem is with Excel spreadsheets that
are copied into a directory that's 4 levels down from the web root are giving a
500 Internal Server Error. The same file copied one level up is accessible,
but then crashes both IE and Firefox. These are real Excel files that are
copied through the file system, not by code.

This is on a solaris/apache box. I've verified that directory/file permissions
are the same as they were previously when it worked. Is there something I
should be looking for in the CF admin?

[ACFUG Discuss] Need CF8 RDS consultant

2008-05-20 Thread andrew . fox
I know quite a few members of this group are consultants, and I have a need for
a short project ASAP. We've just upgraded to CF8 (solaris) and are working on
our first Flex application. We need someone who can come in and get RDS
talking to our developer IDEs (Flex Builder and Dreamweaver.)

This application is going into test at the end of June so we're rather pressed
for time. If interested, please contact me via email with a time and cost
estimate, or for more details.

Thanks in advance,
