[ACFUG Discuss] cf datasources
We had an event on one of our servers that has rendered CF unusable and needing a uninstall/reinstall. However, this means that we will lose our configured data sources. Does anyone know of a way to get this information before we uninstall the program or are we just pretty much SOL? Re: [ACFUG Discuss] cf datasources
In your ColdFusion administrator, there is a settings summary that will capture all of your DSN connection information with the exception of the username and password for the said connections. Re: [ACFUG Discuss] cf datasources
If the CF administrator is unstable, try going to your ColdFusion lib directory and look for a file named neo-datasource.xml example: c:\coldfusion8\lib\neo-datasource.xml This should be a WDDX packet that has your previously saved DSN information. Re: [ACFUG Discuss] cf datasources
This is what you can do. I remember we had this discussion before and there were 2 options. 1. Using CF Admin, which will not work in your case... A 2. *Cameron* had suggested this. Read below. If you are reinstalling the same version of CF You can also copy all the neo-*.xml files out and just drop them back in after you are done. The CAR file method isn't 100% solid last time I tried it. It actually missed a few settings. -Cameron HTH Ajas Mohammed / http://ajashadi.blogspot.com We cannot become what we need to be, remaining what we are. No matter what, find a way.
