Feeding a stored procedure (MySQL) into Django_Tables2 table

2019-12-24 Thread Gregory Vaks
Hello all,

I am using Django-Tables2 for front-end in my app as it nicely fits my
requirement for displaying information.

My issue is that I need to display information from multiple models (MySQL
tables) in one screen/template. There is a stored procedure that gets all
the information that I need and I tested out calling it which works fine
but there is no documentation on how to feed this data into a table.

The Django-Tables2 seems to use a table struct which gets data from fields
that can be specified based off the model you declare while in my case I am
not using just one model so this method will not work for me. I have tried
different methods and searching for better documentation or if anyone had
this issue before but found nothing...

Can someone please advise if there is an easy way for me to do this or an
alternate route I may need to take?

Re: send data to database

2019-12-24 Thread Kevin Dublin
Hi Leo,

You'll want to use a model form in your forms.py, create an instance of it
in the views.py to pass 'form' as a context variable, and then just let the
model form render in the html template using {{ form }}. Check the docs:

https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/3.0/topics/forms/modelforms/

This is a pretty thorough guide:

https://simpleisbetterthancomplex.com/article/2017/08/19/how-to-render-django-form-manually.html

Cheers!

Kevin

send data to database

2019-12-24 Thread Leó Horváth
Hi guys,

I want to create a form with radio buttons that sends data to a specific
database field. How can I do it?

My models.py looks like this:
import datetime
from django.db import models
from django.utils import timezone

# Create your models here.

class Name(models.Model):
user_name = models.CharField(max_length=200)

publication_date = models.DateTimeField('date published')

age= models.IntegerField(default=0)

prof_comm_score = models.IntegerField(default=1)
prof_comm_status = models.IntegerField(default=1)

teamwork_score = models.IntegerField(default=1)
teamwork_status =  models.IntegerField(default=1)

prod_knowledge_score =  models.IntegerField(default=1)
prod_knowledge_status =  models.IntegerField(default=1)

part_comp_score =  models.IntegerField(default=1)
part_comp_status =  models.IntegerField(default=1)

relations_score =  models.IntegerField(default=1)
relations_status =  models.IntegerField(default=1)

strategy_score =  models.IntegerField(default=1)
strategy_status =  models.IntegerField(default=1)

loyality_score =  models.IntegerField(default=1)
loyality_status =  models.IntegerField(default=1)

overall_score = models.IntegerField(default = 7)

def __str__(self):
return self.user_name
def was_published_recently(self):
return self.publication_date >= timezone.now() - datetime.timedelta(
days=1)

Lets say i want 7 radio buttons to determine the value of prof_comm_score
(which is an int ranging from 1 to 7)

My html file looks like this rn:

{%block content%}
#1 Sales profession, communication

{% csrf_token %}

{%endblock%}

here is my git repo if needed:
https://github.com/leocsi/salesgrade

Thanks a lot,
Leó

Re:

2019-12-24 Thread V.K. Vanama
The following steps are useful on Microsoft Windows Platform, I am using
Microsoft Windows 10 64-bit

Step 1: Create a django project either through command line interface or
through any IDE such as JetBrains PyCharm, Atom, etc...
Step 2: Observe the sub-folder name inside the django project contains the
same name as the project name.
Step 3: Notice that the sub-folder contains 4 python files named
__init__.py, settings.py, urls.py, wsgi.py
Step 4: Open the settings.py file & scroll down to the django project
database component which is default to Sq Lite.
Step 5: Remove the default settings corresponding to the Sq Lite and
Replace them by MySQL database as follows:-
{
'ENGINE': 'MYSQL',
'USERNAME': '', # Replace with your MySQL database username.
'PASSWORD': '', # Replace with your MySQL database password
corresponds to the username provided above.
'HOST':'localhost/remotehost', # If it is remote host, you have to provide
its IP Address., & also update the relevant IP Address in the
ALLOWED_HOSTS = [] in the settings.py file itself.
'PORT': 3306, # 3306 is default for MySQL, if you have your own replace it
by your port number
}

Step 6: Save/Refresh the settings.py

What errors. Maybe you have not installed venv package in your machine.
Install it by pip. Search this on Internet.

Also you can simply enter the virtual environment via terminal provided by
