I have an entry in crontab saying: 47 4 * * 7 root test -x /usr/sbin/anacron || ( cd / && run-parts --report /etc/cron.weekly ) That's cron.weekly, and will only run on Sundays. Oops, I picked the wrong line. The problem is a hard link to /etc/crontab; it is described here: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=647193 I too made the hard link for archive purposes. And I made it on 26 November.
