Re: [DNSOP] And the Wait Continues for .Corp, .Home and .Mail Applicants
In article <7d49542b-1852-464a-b3f0-198357dc1...@nic.fr> you write: >-=-=-=-=-=- > This is relevant to the Special-Use registry discussion. (Which is mentioned, > in a negative way.) >http://www.circleid.com/posts/20170312_and_the_wait_continues_for_corp_home_and_mail_applicants/ It is my impression that there is no chance that any of these will be delegated, and the very long delay is due to endless negotiations about how to unwind the applications. I know none of the details. R's, John ___ DNSOP mailing list DNSOP@ietf.org https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/dnsop
Re: [DNSOP] I-D Action: draft-ietf-dnsop-sutld-ps-03.txt
draft-ietf-dnsop-sutld-ps-03 includes revised text to address issues raised during the WG last call and other editorial improvements. The list of issues, discussion and resolution are in GitHub: https://github.com/Abhayakara/draft-tldr-sutld-ps There is one substantial addition to the list of problems in section 3: the use of DNSSEC with Special-Use Domain Names. In the authors' opinion, draft-ietf-dnsop-sutld-ps-03 addresses all of the WG last call issues and the document is ready to be forwarded to the IESG. - Ralph > On Mar 13, 2017, at 3:26 PM, internet-dra...@ietf.org wrote: > > > A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts > directories. > This draft is a work item of the Domain Name System Operations of the IETF. > >Title : Special-Use Domain Names Problem Statement >Authors : Ted Lemon > Ralph Droms > Warren Kumari > Filename: draft-ietf-dnsop-sutld-ps-03.txt > Pages : 27 > Date: 2017-03-13 > > Abstract: > The Special-Use Domain Names IANA registry policy defined in RFC 6761 > has been shown through experience to present unanticipated > challenges. [DNSOP] Fwd: New Version Notification for draft-arends-dnsop-dnssec-algorithm-update-00.txt
This draft should be of interest to this WG, providing an alternative to draft-wouters-sury-dnsop-algorithm-update. jakob Forwarded message: From: internet-dra...@ietf.org To: Roy Arends , Jakob Schlyter , Matt Larson Subject: New Version Notification for draft-arends-dnsop-dnssec-algorithm-update-00.txt Date: Mon, 13 Mar 2017 10:47:24 -0700 A new version of I-D, draft-arends-dnsop-dnssec-algorithm-update-00.txt has been successfully submitted by Roy Arends and posted to the IETF repository. Name: draft-arends-dnsop-dnssec-algorithm-update Revision: 00 Title: DNS Security (DNSSEC) DNSKEY Algorithm IANA Registry Updates Document date: 2017-03-12 Group: Individual Submission Pages: 6 URL: https://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-arends-dnsop-dnssec-algorithm-update-00.txt Status: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-arends-dnsop-dnssec-algorithm-update/ Htmlized: https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-arends-dnsop-dnssec-algorithm-update-00 Abstract: The DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC) require the use of cryptographic algorithm suites for generating digital signatures and cryptographic hashes over DNS data. The algorithms specified for use with DNSSEC are reflected in IANA registries. This document updates some entries in these registries. The main reason for these updates is to retire the use of SHA1. Please note that it may take a couple of minutes from the time of submission until the htmlized version and diff are available at tools.ietf.org.
