Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Emulating your work

2022-02-03 Thread Andrew Pitonyak

Oliver,

if you decide that you want to attempt to automate some of these things, let me
know and I can run some tests to see if it is practical to complete some of the
tasks using macros (or similar). For example, verifying that frames or graphics
are anchored as a character. Easier, obviously, if ALL graphics / frames must
be anchored as a character. I never did attempt that with a macro, but worst
that can happen is that I fail to do it in a useful way and the step is still
manual.

+ Birthday info is a personal matter, some people uncomfortable to

+ Matter should be brought to membership committee and Board of

3 members of the Dutch community are working on the translation of

translating...that will save us a lot of time. But I noticed that
MateCAT asks private info like your contacts when register to work with
MateCAT. Some users do not want to register when this kind of info is asked.
Is it possible to have our own installation of MateCAT hosted on
TDF servers?. Hope that the registration will be easier for the users
and respect their privacy.
I'm sure that more translators would like to use this fantastic
Open Source tool.

  + Upload chapter, run auto-translation, d/l translated
+ handles ODF, no format glitch.
  + no need for login
+ no desire to keep a pt-BR translation memory (TM)
+ sure it improves translation if TM exist but...
+ Guide updates carried directly from en-US guide changelog +
Release notes
+ Community fun is to review machine translation and fix contents
mistakes

+ no more language issues-> brought crowd to the doc team.
+ Matecat is open source
  + github
+ can be offered as external service or installed on premises
+ ask infra and/or set budget for
 + start with redmine ticket.
+ personal note (Olivier)
+ machine translation superseed TM in speed and effort, modulo
review.

   + enormous savings on typing
   + excellent for pt-BR, 99% understandable (guess)
+ Matecat could deliver suggestion alongside weblate TM.

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] 7.3 Base Guide - updates to Chapters 5 and 6

2022-02-03 Thread flywire
Review of BG7306-Reports_SF_FW_03Feb2022.odt complete. There are two
comments, one I can't delete (see
https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/possible-bug-cant-fully-delete-comment-when-record-track-changes-is-on/50320/1).
Worst case I suppose an xml edit would fix it.

This document has a really poor style which I assume is due to translating
instead of rewriting. Would benefit from a rewrite in the future,
particularly the first part.

There are several bug reports with regarding the crash on mac with Skia and it
is now disabled for 7.3 by the following commit, which may be avalible on 7.3.1
release:

Skia is a graphics engine. Blog post from 2019 about the project:
https://llunak.blogspot.com/2019/11/skia-branch-merged-to-master.html

Deactivate every option that has Skia in it. The end result should be
that there is a text "Skia is currently disabled" and in your About
dialog you don't see Skia for the VCL information.

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] LO 7.3 still crashing on macOS Monterey

2022-02-03 Thread Peter Schofield
Hello Jean and the Team

I tested LO 7.3 on my new M1 MacBook Air running macOS 12.2 Monterey.
Worked on LG7307 file for over 3 hours. LO 7.3 did not crash and I closed LO
normally. My changes were all there when I opened the same file on my Mac mini.
My conclusion is that LO 7.3 on an Intel powered Mac running Monterey has a
problem.
