[libreoffice-documentation] - Introduction

2020-07-14 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello everyone,

I'm Felipe Viggiano, an Electrical Engineer from São Paulo, Brazil and I
would like to contribute to this beautiful project.
I believe that the effort you guys are doing can really make a difference
in giving access to good quality softwares to a great number of people, and
being part of it is a great honor for me.
This is my first participation in something like this, so I am still
getting used to how this works. I would appreciate any tips about where to
start.

Thank you very much,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] - Introduction

2020-07-14 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Thanks for the tips Olivier,

I will begin by reading and commenting on the LibreOffice Writer 6.4
documents, since I am more familiar with it.
And I hope, in the future, to get evolved with the 7.0 version as well.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Question re. Contributor Guide

2020-07-17 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello Samantha,

Thinking about new contributors, I'd like to make a suggestion.

I am under the impression that you are a technical writer, is that correct?
So, what do you feel about putting a really simple procedure-like
attachment in the Contributors Guide in order to direct the tasks for a
beginner?

It could be something very basic and clear, here's a little example for a
new reviewer:

"Step #1. Check if the cover is updated with the new template and version;
 Step #2. Check if the number of pages is matching with the index;
Step #3. Check if all the dates are spelling part or all of the month
(According to Style Guide page 2)
... "

I don't know, just thought that it could help newcomers (just like myself)
starting in the tasks and give a relief for the more experienced and
professional ones, allowing them to focus on the advanced issues.

Please, everyone in the list, feel free to comment about that.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Question re. Contributor Guide

2020-07-17 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Samantha,

I'm thinking in a very direct stepwise guide. Basically a checklist
instructing beginners in what's important to check in the documents.

With cautions to make sure the reader understands that the document
presents only some good starting points as you said, and feel free to check
for others discrepancies.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Question re. Contributor Guide

2020-07-17 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello Dave,

Sorry I didn't make myself clear enough. By "attachment in the Contributors
Guide", I meant in the form of an appendix (2 pages max.) at the end of the
book with some sort of starting guidance for beginners, no intention to
propose big changes in the document.
I just thought that it would be a good solution to standardize newcomers'
work on reviews.

But I understand and agree with your point of view, there is a lot of work
to do in more essential documents, and the team should be focused on
finishing these.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

[libreoffice-documentation] Writer Guide 6.4 Chapter 12 - WG6412 - First Review

2020-07-18 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello everyone,

I have just uploaded my first contribution: the first review of the
Writer's Guider, 6.4, Chapter 12 in the feedback folder.
I made a few comments and put some images to support some of them (they are
uploaded in the Images folder).

For the next reviewer:
- Please feel free to delete the images, or let me know so I can erase them.
- If you could give me some feedback about the quality of this review,
I would appreciate it.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

[libreoffice-documentation] Re: First Review - IM7002 - Master Slides, Styles and Templates

2020-07-21 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello everyone,

Working on the IG7002 and something caught my attention.
The template I'm using is the *LibreOffice_7.x_Template_JHW.ott,* but it is
not matching with the templates of other documents reviewed for the Impress
7.0 (the icons for tips and notes for example are different).

Is there any other template file for the 7.0 guides? I didn't manage to
find it on NextCloud.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Peter and Dan,

Thanks for the answers!
I'm gonna continue reviewing without focusing on the template.

Just for the record, I'm using the LO version 7.0 RC2 for this task, in the
case of any major difference I'll point it out with comments.

Hello Randolph,

I'm crediting it to beginner's luck, lol!

But you have an interesting point there, maybe, when it gets calmer, we can
come up with an informal but systematic way (don't know how, just thought
about it after your email) to keep sharing our practices so we can use them
as improvements.

Re: Re[2]: [libreoffice-documentation] Re: Calc Guide v7.0

2020-08-06 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello Steve,

Thank you very much for the feedback!

Regarding the bugs, I did a few actions to try to resolve it without
success, as I didn't want to delay the review even more, I decided to put
the warning in the comments. For now, I'm gonna look a little deeper in
those issues, and confirming that it's not some configuration issue I will
definitely report a bug.

About the text in the Data labels dialog, I can see now how it is important
to alert the user. In this case, may I suggest inserting the text that you
wrote? It would be something like:
"If you selected a data series, Calc displays data labels for that data
series using default settings (and it will remain displayed even if you
press Cancel on the dialog)..."

As for the commas, that was something I didn't know about. I will keep that
in mind in the next Calcs reviews, thanks for the heads up!

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Thanks to Calc Guide reviewers

2020-08-08 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello everyone,

Just uploaded a first review on the CG7005 - Using Graphics in the Feedback
folder.

With that I uploaded a .zip file with a few images to support some of the
comments.

The Calc Status Guide has been updated.

Steve,
Just for information, I did manage to reproduce those Data Labels steps in
the new LO Calc latest release in the Safe Mode, so this is probably a
configuration issue.

But the others (crashing in 3D View and the problem with the Data Range in
the Chart Wizard) I still can't execute. Just reported some bugs on
BugZilla about them.
Thank you very much for the support.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: Re[2]: [libreoffice-documentation] Thanks to Calc Guide reviewers

2020-08-10 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello Steve,

Thanks again for the feedback!

About the clipboard suggestion, sorry I was not clear enough at that point.
My intention there was to remind the user that when a change in the *Area
Style / Filling *is applied to a clipboard, it won't change the background,
it will actually change the colours of the clipboard itself.

About the tip I will keep that in mind for the next reviews!

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: Re[4]: [libreoffice-documentation] Thanks to Calc Guide reviewers

2020-08-11 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello Steve,

I am very sorry, now I can see the mistake.

Where is written:
*"with exception to clipboards"*

Please consider this:
"*with exception to images from the Gallery*"

I wrote clipboards thinking in the images from the Gallery, sorry about
that.

When the guide was describing the *Area Style / FIlling* button it was
saying the following:

"*Area Style / Filling** – sets the color or other characteristics of the
background area that contains the image, not the image itself.*"

But I believe this is only true for inserted images from an external file
(like a .jpg or a .png). When we are talking about an image from the
Gallery, this button changes the image itself, and not the background.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: Re[6]: [libreoffice-documentation] Thanks to Calc Guide reviewers

2020-08-11 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello Steve,

So that's what caused this controversy!

To reproduce your steps, I inserted a Note-Gold as well, and when applying
another color in the Area Style / Filling controls, my LO Calc (Linux)
changed the whole image, only the small yellow line on the top remains in
the original color.

Here what it looks like for me:
https://nextcloud.documentfoundation.org/s/mCRCBncnyRAxR4J

That's why I thought this was expected.
In this case, I'm going to see if this issue is just a configuration error
in my LO version, or else I'm gonna report a bug on this.

Thank you very much!

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Re: Toolbars in LibreOffice - an appendix?

2020-08-21 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello everyone,

I was checking the new appendix suggestion from Peter and I think it would
be a very nice improvement to the guides

As Peter pointed out, I believe this should be in every guide to allow the
user to quickly access some information regarding the toolbars.

I agree with Steve about the list of bullet points instead of the
screenshots of long menus, but in my opnion this should be restricted to
really long ones, giving priority, to the image.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Steve,

Just uploaded a first review on the CG7007 - FormulasAndFunction.

Only a few minor suggestions. The chapter is very well written and I
managed to reproduce and understand every step and orientation.

I'm checking out the CG7008 - Pivot Tables for a first review. Expect to
return it by Thursday (27Ago2020).

The Calc Status Guide has been updated.

I was looking at the second version of Appendix B and the checkmark
appeared just fine for me and it looked really good.

About the word "installed", I agree with Steve that it could sound
repetitive.

To this discussion, I would like to suggest a couple of options as shown in
the screenshots below:

*Suggestion 01* - Highlight the visible buttons with the Strong Emphasis
character style and indicate it in the text before the figure:
https://nextcloud.documentfoundation.org/s/3RC3TMsL5aRwccL

*Suggestion 02* - Divide the visible buttons from the available ones:
https://nextcloud.documentfoundation.org/s/erBHjygq5xZdg7X

Hope I could contribute to this matter.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

2020-08-24 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello Steve,

Thanks for the feedback!

About the shortcut, I"m currently using Linux (Ubuntu), but it could be a
distribution difference. May I suggest something like this:

Formulas can be toggled on / off in the menu option *View > Show Formula*,
and, depending on the operational system, by the shortcut *Ctrl*+*`* (grave
accent).

About the multi-threading, I can understand that this could be useful
information for advanced users.

Hello Dan,

Apparently it's something with the release version. I did the report on
Bugzilla (https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136129) and
this was confirmed by another user, with the 7.1.0.0.alpha0+ version.

In my case, I have installed the 7.0.0.3 version on Ubuntu (20.04 as well).

Hello everyone,

Steve,

Just uploaded the first review on the CG7008 - Pivot Tales in the Feedback

I did manage to reproduce and understand all the directions made in the
document, so the review contains just a few minor suggestions.

The Calc Status Guide has been updated.

Hello Steve,

Just took a look at the changes made in Chapter 03.
I believe that the author of the bug report did manage to add the cell
range for the data labels, but the *Show category* option was not selected.
In that case, I think your text suggestion does cover his doubt and gives
even more instructions about inserting labels in a XY(Scatter) / Bubble
charts. Looks good to me.

Re: Fw: Re[2]: [libreoffice-documentation] Re[2]: Calc Guide v7.0

2020-08-31 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello Steve,

Once again, many thanks for the feedback, as always they provide me a great
learning opportunity.

About the matters:

1) The square brackets are OK, but I still feel strange about the
semicolons positions:
Maybe instead of this:
GETPIVOTDATA(TargetField; pivot table[; Field 1; Item 1][; ... [Field 126;
Item 126]]

It could be something like this:
GETPIVOTDATA(TargetField; pivot table; [Field 1; Item 1];...; [Field 126;
Item 126])

2) Sorry, I did not notice that. I'm gonna keep that in mind for the next
reviews.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Hello Steve,

"* So,*

*=GETPIVOTDATA(target field; pivot table)is fine. But you wouldn't normally
enter=GETPIVOTDATA(target field; pivot table;)*"

Yes, now I can see the proposed semicolon position in the formula.

Thanks for the explanation!

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: Re[2]: [libreoffice-documentation] Calc's Z-test tool

2020-09-03 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello everyone,

About the matter, I'm currently reviewing the
CG7009-DataAnalysis-SF-12Aug2020, and got to the Z-test tool part.

After creating the results table, is possible to insert the variance in
their respective cells, but I was looking to the Z-test wiki page referred
in the chapter and it says this:
"*If the population variance is unknown (and therefore has to be estimated
from the sample itself) and the sample size is not large (n < 30), the
Student's t-test may be more appropriate.*"

I just did a little research on google and found this website doing some
explanation about Z-Test:
https://www.solver.com/z-test-two-sample-means
When running the example in Calc and manually inserting the variances in
the cells of the Z-Test results, the output was identical to the example on
the website.

So I'm guessing that LO Calc should be able to calculate the variance from
the given data, and this should be fixed in the software.
Or, maybe we can put a note to the user to insert the variances after
creating the table.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: Re[4]: [libreoffice-documentation] Calc's Z-test tool

2020-09-04 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello everyone,

Steve,

Just uploaded a first review on the CG7009 - Data analysis in the feedback
folder. I agree with your suggestions and inserted them into the guide.

A few notes:
- It's possible to set different values for Alpha in other tools like
F-test, Paired t-test, and Chi-test (the dialog do not give this option to
the user). This is also true for the Hypothesized Mean Difference in the
Paired t-test. In this case, I suggested in the chapter to expand your
explanation to all of those tools.
- I have updated the Figure, but this was my first time doing this, could
you give a double check on this? Fell free to delete it and replace if the
result was not OK.

About the chapter, the instructions were very clear, and I managed to
reproduce every step, just a few minor suggestions.

The Calc Guide Status has been updated.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Once again, thanks for the feedback.

About the Figure 12, that's OK! That suggestion was just some minor detail.

Just checked out the CG7010 - LinkingData for a first review. Expect to
return it by Friday (11Sep2020).

The Calc Status Guide has been updated.

Hello everyone,

Samantha, thanks for that!

Dave, I think it's a good idea, just did it in the Calc's Status Guide as
well.

Re: Re[2]: Fw: Re[2]: [libreoffice-documentation] Re[2]: Calc Guide v7.0

2020-09-11 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello everyone,

Just uploaded a first review of the CG7010 - LinkingData on the Feedback
folder.

I would like to raise some questions about a few issues in the chapter and
would love to read some comments from the members of the team:

1. The *Note* on page 24 says that the Status column on the Edit links
dialog aways shows the string Manual for a link created and does not
reflect the "*Update every ... seconds*" option on the External Data
dialog.

*Is there a reason for this?*

2. The Control Properties dialog, referred in page 19 (Editing Hyperlinks)
does not hold the regulars *OK* and *Cancel *buttons.

*Again, is there any reason for this? *

The reason I pointed this out here is that I'm thinking about reporting
those issues in Bugzilla and I'm not sure that it is wrong or it supposes
to be exactly like this.

PS: The Calc Guide Status has been updated.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Hope everything is ok!

[libreoffice-documentation] Calc Guide 7.0 Coordination

2020-10-04 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello everyone,

Sorry but I've been a little busy in the past weeks and I was not able to
contribute more with the team.

About the Calc Guide 7.0, I can see that we do not have a new coordinator
since Steve, in that case, can I volunteer myself for the job at least
until the publication of this version?

As I can see the work to be done is to finish the reviews and change the
template for the reviewed chapters. Am I missing something?

I would suggest inside the Draft folder rather than one level up.
Actually, for me, it doesn't really matter where the folder is, since, as
far as I understood, it is a temporary storage place for pre-published
files, but I can move it if this is for the best, not a problem.

About the workflow, we are in the final steps for the Calc 7.0 Guide
reviewing, so I would like to suggest to keep the previous workflow and
adopt the new one on the upcoming 7.1 Calc Guide.
I believe we will spend some precious time moving and renaming every file
when we could use it to finish the book instead.

Those are my opinion on the subjects, perhaps we can discuss a little
further, and get to a final decision about them.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] CG7000 and CG7001 - Final review

2020-10-12 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Dave,

Thank you very much for the clarification!
When I saw the "Reviewed..." folder, I came up with a wrong impression
about the files in the Published folder.
Just moved those two files to the Published folder and updated the Status
Guide with the new location as you suggested.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Since I'm not familiar with the Nextcloud versioning system, I'm going with
option #1 as well.

But I would like to keep an open mind about this for the future. Has anyone
tested this feature?

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] [VOTE] On changes to documentation workflow.

2020-10-15 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello Dave,

Thanks for the information. It was very clarifying!
It sounds like a good feature, and I agree it is very conflicting with our
current workflow for the revision of the guides.

Perhaps we can leave this option on the table for other assignments for the
Doc Team that may arise.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Hello everyone,

Just uploaded the CG7012 - Macros in the Draft folder, this chapter is now
ready for a second review.

Most of the suggestions made by Olivier and Steve were accepted.

Steve: About the strange blank space below Figure 8, I believe It was the
Frame configuration, I changed it and it appears OK to me.

Hello everyone,

Just uploaded the CG7003 - ChartsAndGraphs on the Published folder after

Keed: All of your suggestions were incorporated into the chapter.

Steve: About the 3D View bug, apparently it was specific to some Linux
users. A patch has been released to correct that (
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135568).

The Calc Guide Status has been updated.

[libreoffice-documentation] Update on Calc 7.0 Guide

2020-10-26 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello everyone,

Three more chapters are now in the Published folder after the second review
analysis:

i. CG7006 - PrintExportEmailSign;
ii. CG7007 - FormulaAndFunctions; and
iii. CG7008 - PivotTables.

Kees,
In the CG7007-FormulaAndFunction, I think you have a point about the
necessity for presenting the number of functions in each category (Table
8). However, since it was a job already done, I have kept the table and
perhaps we can discuss this for the next update. If Steven could comment on
this issue (suggestion to remove Tale 8 from the CG7007), it would be great
also!

In the CG7008-PivotTables, I have kept the last caution note about deleting
a pivot table associated with a pivot chart, even though is repeated,
thinking in a user that goes straight to the Pivot Chart section of the
chapter.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Calc Guide 7.0, Covers and master document

2020-10-29 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Thank you very much for that Olivier!

Updates on the Calc Guide 7.0:

The chapters CG7010-LinkingData and CG-7011-SharingAndReviewing are now on
the Published folder after 2 reviews.
The chapters CG-7015-KeyboardShortcuts and CG7016-ErrorCodes are now on the
Draft folder ready for a second review.

I would like to raise a few questions about the Calc Guide publishing:

i. How are we on the Toolbar appendix? Are they already mandatory for the
guides in this 7.0?
ii. Considering Steve's fine job in the previous version, and that we are
closer to a LO 7.1 release, I'm thinking in start publishing the chapters
with at least one review. In this case, we can start working on the 7.1
Calc Guide immediately. If anyone could comment on this matter would be
great!

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] second review of chapter 12 of the Calc Guide

2020-11-01 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Kees,

Thank you very much for that!
I can take another look at the chapter focusing only on the macros, and
after that, I believe we are good to go!

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Calc Guide 7.0, Covers and master document

2020-11-01 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello everyone,

Just uploaded CG7012-Macros in the Published folder.

Kees:
Thanks again for the effort, all of your suggestions were incorporated,
including the new Note paragraph.

Steve:
Regarding Olivier's contribution to the chapter, I was able to understand
everything that was explained, so I did not make any major suggestions. The
only thing I did was adding a link to the Macro help page on the end (the
previous link points straight to VBASupport Statement).

About the Calc Guide:
Just uploaded a first version of the compiled Calc Guide on the feedback
folder based. There are three versions: .odm, .odt, and .pdf.
I'm still working on it, but I put there in case anyone wants to take a
look and give some comments before the final version.

Olivier:
The cover images on the .odm file were very heavy on my computer, so I
exported them to .png and re-inserted them back, but I don if this is the
right way to manage this, is there any suggestion?

Have a great week everyone!

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

[libreoffice-documentation] Update on Calc Guide

2020-11-04 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello everyone,

Just uploaded the newest version of the Calc 7.0 Guide on the Published
Folder.
All the chapters and the compiled version were updated with Jeans's
comments and some more corrections.

I'm planning to upload the .pdf files from each chapter by tomorrow.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Update on Calc Guide

2020-11-05 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello everyone,

I appreciate very much the thanks! But what I'm doing is just a small part
of great work from everyone involved!

Steve,
Of course I can wait!. The more feedbacks on the guide before publishing
the better!
About the links, apparently, the "Figures" links are OK and the "Pages"
ones are the issue. As I could observe here, they are leading to where they
are supposed to, but the exhibited numbers are incorrect.
Example: On page 22, the link mentioned is taking the user to the correct
section - Using the navigator (which is in fact on page 39), however, it
wrongfully shows the number 41.
I'm starting to work on that issue right now.

Dave,
As soon as I can fix every issue pointed I will surely let you know.

One question to the group:
I'm using the Published folder for the files, should I move to the Draft
folder and put back on Published only after finishing?

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Update on Calc Guide

2020-11-09 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello everyone,

Just uploaded the newest version of the Calc Guide on the Feedback Folder
(chapters and compiled files were updated). Sorry about the delay.

Steve, about your suggestions:
- The footnotes were all changed to match with the orientation on the wiki
page (item 11 on the "How to compile a book" section).
- As for the font problem, I could not check, because I wasn't getting that
kind of message, but in the new CG70-Calcguide.pdf, I noticed that
the LiberationSans-Bold font is embedded in the file, can you check again?
Is there anybody else with this issue?
- On the VBASuppot or VBA Support options, I vote to keep everything in
VBASupport to match with the macro code of the example.
- About the repeated info on the VBA Properties, since it is not that much
of paragraphs, I vote to keep it, thinking in the user that goes straight
to Chapter 14 for information.

I believe everything else was covered.

I would like to share a brief experience on the link leading to the wrong
page. The cause of it was the usage of hidden sections in each chapter.
When assembling them in the master document, they were successfully hidden,
but the page links were showing a different number. I managed to overcome
this by deleting all the sections of the compiled book, and by doing this,
I had to remove manually the unwanted pages from the chapters, such as
contents and copyright pages. Is this supposed to work like this, or there
is something wrong with my LO version? If this is the standard, I would
suggest a note about this on the AssemblingMasterDocument.odt on the
Contributor Resources folder.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Update on Calc Guide

2020-11-10 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello Steve,

About the footer text in Appendix, it was my fault, I was focused on the
other chapters e forgot to give it a double-check.
The problem here was a lack of cover for the chapter, so the footer was
getting the wrong reference. So I took the Calc Guide example and added a
cover named "Index", and, to keep consistency with the others chapters from
the book, the footnote on the odd pages was set to the chapter name, is
that ok with you?

Regarding the figures, the references were fixed.

So I uploaded the new version of the compiled book in the Feedback folder.
Chapter 13 was updated as well with the fixed references (only this chapter
was affected).

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

[libreoffice-documentation] Published guides corrections

2020-11-10 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello everyone,

We often get e-mails giving suggestions on old published guides (version
6.2, 5.2, and so on).
How do we handle these? Do we update those books or do we wait for the next
version to come out?

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Update on Calc Guide

2020-11-10 Thread Felipe Viggiano
I received an error message after sending the e-mail below, so I don't know
if it was correctly delivered. Just to be sure, here it goes again:

2020-11-11 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello everyone,

Just moved the final Calc 7.0 Guide version to the Published folder, with
all the .pdf files.
The Wiki page was also updated, please note that the "Purchase" link is
empty and need to be changed later.

Steve,
Thanks again for the support.

Dave,
I believe the guide is ready now.

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Published guides corrections

2020-11-11 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Got it, Steve and Peter! Thanks!

This was just something I was not sure of how to proceed. The reason I'm
wondering about it is that it's not rare to find users with very old LO
versions installed and it's possible that some of them don't even know that
newer versions were released.
Perhaps we can put an easily visible note on older guides stating something
like this:

"This book relates to a previous LibreOffice release and it is not being
supported anymore. Please check for the latest version in
https://documentation.libreoffice.org/en/";

Maybe this could encourage users to update their LO and look for the new
guides.
Would love to know the team's opinion about it.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Impress Print Options - Content

2020-11-15 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello Peter,

Strange, but I couldn't find the options you mentioned on the Tools >
Options > LibreOffice Impress > Print dialog, but I managed to find
something similar (not equal) on the LibreOffice Impress tab from the File
> Print dialog in the Type option from the Document section. For the
record, I'm using LO 7.0.0.3 on Linux Ubuntu.

In my case, depending on the selection, the presentation is printed
differently:
i. with the Notes enabled, notes inserted by the user is printed below each
slide (just like it is shown in the View > Notes);
ii. with the Outline enabled, only the title and texts are printed (just
like it is shown in View > Outline);
iii. with Handouts enabled, several slides are printed on each page;
iv. In the dialog I'm seeing, it's not available the Drawing option,
instead, it has a Slides option, which prints in the normal way.

Another observation: in here it's possible to choose only one of them at a
time.
Hope I could help.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Documentation Guides

2020-11-18 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello Inukaze,

It's possible to download the .odt files in the wiki page:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Publications

Math and Calc 7.0 Guides are already there but the Writer Guide is been
updated. As soon as the new versions are been released they will be
available on that page too.

I think there is a Spanish group for translation, perhaps you can contact
them to join the team!
You can find more information on
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/es

I hope I could help.

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] GS7003, Styles and Templates

2020-12-01 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello Jean,

Sorry, it took a long time to reply, this has been a busy week here.

About the template extension, you are correct, I have it installed and
forgot about it while reviewing the chapter. With that said, the extension
works just fine with me (LO 7 and Ubuntu 20.04), and I think it would be a
nice feature to add to the standard LibreOffice.

About the Chapter, I'm going to take a look ASAP and expect to give
feedback to you by Friday.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Hello Jean,

Just took a look at the GS7003 and it is very good for me. Really liked
the new info about the Template Manager Extension.

You will find another version of the file uploaded by me in the WIP folder,
but I just changed a reference that was returning an error, and nothing
else.

[libreoffice-documentation] Re: Second review - GS-7011-ImagesAndGraphics

2021-01-27 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello everyone,

Just uploaded a second review of the GS7013-GettingStartedWithMacros.

Must say that in my opinion, the chapter is very well written. I'm not
familiar with macros but I was able to have a good understanding of the
subject.

Just some few suggestions:

A few dialog titles are named slightly different in my LibreOffice, in
those cases I suggested a double check.
In figure 10, the related steps were inserted in the image, which in my
opinion is extremely helpful. And to whoever made this and have the source
file, Iḿ suggesting to insert the number of the step as well (just an
enhancement suggestion).

The Status Guide has been updated and the previous file was moved to the
Archive folder.

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Calc Guide 7.1

2021-02-21 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hey Steve!

Everything is fine! Have been away due to lack of time, but now I believe I
can come back for a while.

I just went through the Calc Guide 7.1 folder and saw that you also
prepared a file with the changes needed for the Guide, that is excellent!
In the readme.md file, there is a reminder to the reviewers to take a look
at this file before starting to work on the chapter!

Keep around, your assistance is much appreciated!

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano
